yes i forgot to say that i am running Windows 7 , so a 64bit system

I saw the replies just now , i just got the file and i am reading the README just now

But if you have a series of actions you need to perform to save your data a macro record/playback program might work better for you.  Stuff like Firefox restart works because it's inside the program and can read what tabs are open etc..

i hope rerun may solve i like keep simple ...anyway in case you have some suggestion on  macro record/playback programs?  I never used any till now

I am not sure that what i ask is possible , even less if possible with a few hours coding.
But if possible would be really useful

RELOAD TARGET PROGRAM

Not all programs have a option to reload but there are many cases were reload is useful, as example may be needed for changes to take effect , verify if new added plugin of script works , and so on

I would be interested to know if Gimp (that is open source ) may be reloaded using a external program or even simple macro to copy and re-run the 2 manual command needed to reload  (=exit and a double click on the exe or a console call to start ) also because reload would be needed to perfect a Gimp addon manager , now limited because some changes require reload , but reload can't be automatized

But i believe they may be many other cases , regarding many other programs

I would be very happy is possible but at least i would like to know if is impossible, and i am open also to "oblique" solution , as capture and rerun mouse gesture and keystroke needed to reload..or the equivalent console commands

To know if possible in general ... and if yes if could work also with my favorite "target program"

The default keys are not usable on most laptop, because most laptop have NOT a print screen key (they all have a equivalent command somewhere but with a different label ) ...maybe  combinations of keys available on both laptop and desktop keyboard will be better as default

A QUESTION :
In the option setting>hotkey the dialog shows "Win Key" boxes ,

well..in what cases the boxes should be marked, and in what case not ...what exactly does the "Win Key" option marked or unmarked ?

maybe a bit OFF TOPIC

Windows assign automatically a lot of "hot key", more are added by new programs, i found always tricky found which keys are still available and which already used and for what .

This is a problem i have in general , not only to customize your program keys ,but ... maybe you know how  get a list of all the hotkeys already in use

On a tangential note, with these screencasts I tend to download them first (as the DownloadHelper FF plugin makes them available as mp4) and then view them using an external player such as smplayer or VLC.

I find that this kind of "offline" viewing provides a less frustrating, robust, and familiar experience

(I appreciate that one has a choice in the matter though (thanks mouser!) -- it's not always so easy to obtain a local copy.)

From the description seems exactly what i was looking for !

A suggestion not much for add more but to simplify all that privacy options:

" encrypt " :" encrypt " is to send the text as input to a associate encrypt program, and retrieve back the output from it
If was this i would not need any of the others privacy options

PS several encrypt program may run from a USB pen-drive ....

I found really weird the combination of Open Source, nagscreen and unlock key

I suppose may work better for donation, but the risk of forks IS very high...

It is low in the particular case of the sw discussed here but in case of something more fancy, let say a app to play music & convert Flac & alike to mp3, or to create texture for to 3D models, or more simply to customize Windoze looks...then the risk of fork will become much higher

GimpShop fork attracted interest only because offered a single window interface...
but now also Gimp has  a much better implementation of  single windows mode as option (the old mode is still available you may switch with a click)

you don't even have to wait the official release of gimp 2.8 to test it, there are Windows installers available (32 or 64 bit ) of gimp -2.7.4 (beta) here www.partha.com

Gimpshop was a very poor hack , so buggy that was almost impossible to use, and based on a obsolete version of gimp

i really cannot see any reason to resurrect that dead fork , what could offer is already integrated in the new GIMP

Hum i even try to open the db with PSPad hoping was possible edit the notes

may even be possible i may read them ....but i don't fill to attempt to do it, edit a couple of letter seems possible
but  change some lines seems  awkward

I am more messy then you but i had very bad experience with other Sw to find or remove duplicates

I hope you share my same concept of duplicate:
Same name and extension do not identify clones..I may well have 10 different images in 10 different folders called "image.jpg" just because that is the default name and i was in hurry, i will hate see 9 deleted

So my idea of a duplicate finder include, that after a generic check for file that have same name ,extension  is checked also the FILE SIZE
because obviously if file size is different may be variants but for sure we are not more talking about duplicates

And i will appreciate a " PARANOIA mode":
once i get a list of possible duplicates a " PARANOIA mode" option should allow me

1 )If are text files (including script and codes )to open them with Winmerge or any similar app created to spot differences in text or codes (of course should be installed)
2) if are images files open them in my image viewer so i may check if are really duplicates

O a similar " PARANOIA mode" is a close parent of  the "Open with" option of many sw and require at first a couple of user's input:
basically the user indicate the path for the executive of the program to be used to open the files (in my example may be for images files a path for xnview.exe )

Then in case i select a group of possible dups in PRANIOA mode the "finddup"  program should hopefully pass as argument what is needed for the other sw to open that very files that must be checked

 i believe something similar will make the difference also respect to commercial alternative

 camcorder seems interesting i had already a look time ago

i had same problem with camcorder... no idea how to synchronize with gimp to have caption, or video recording done only when actions are performed,  for that i could not find clue

As Graphic Editor i use Gimp and i would like have a screenshoot for each action of gimp,

any time something is done in gimp, everything  as a click om a menu, on icon, or whatever, a screenshoot is taken

Is it possible a similar interfacing ..?
i looked in the help for more but  i didn't noticed anything else related to the quote

No wink do nothing of what i want

i just need that after the first  other screenshoot be automatically trigged by changes of the selected window (selected from the first screenshoot).

i really don't like wink and i don't want/need a classic video screen recorder, i need only the changes in the window be recorded, and as  png, a new one for each change of >N pixels in the chosen area, so no in video format

Sure final result for me will be a animation but in stopmotion, from single png, showing each minimal changes (except when i used filters, but for that i can provide same simple fading)

point is that i'm not sure is technically feasible, but for this i asked here

I searched for years a similar tool, is not a desktop screencaster video recorder and not a screengrabber but something in between

I explain better i need to record my workflow on graphic SW (as gimp,inkscape..) but i need that the screegrab is done only when there are changes in the image window.

in other words this is what i will need
1 i open gimp (or photoshop or...) and i open a image windows
2 now i take a shoot of the window,save, but, here the point, now i can check a new option "Monitor this windows"
3 "Monitor this windows" simply automatically take another shoots when N pixels change inside that windows
as example suppose i'm drawing, when N, let's say five pixel are changed it automatically take a
new shoot and save in the same directory of the first shoot
3 bis  i make a example of a chang of 5 pixel, but should be 5 "or more".
If changes happen toghether (to clear if instead then drawing i apply a filter) then a new shoot has to be taken, doesn't matter if was not a change of 5 but of much more pixel

I think purpose and utility is  clear, i have no idea if could be done easily but it would be wonderful if possible

I'm not a native english so if i was not clear just tell me i will try to explain better

Anyway compliment for this sw is the most complete screenshoot utility i found till now and i tried tons of them
Even expensive commercial ones (i never buy one, but i tested the trial versions ) are so complete and full of features
