You're talking about things way above my pay grade. Videos, games, frames are not my "thang".

I'm limited pretty much to two deck freecell and hearts. Gin Rummy I like but I'm too good for the computer and win all the time. :-[
Back in the good old days I dreamed of sailing the seven seas on ocean liners and making a living playing Gin.  8)
Had to give up my dream........... I get deadly seasick  :-[

There is a place to  turn on Media Streaming in Win7 in the Network and Sharing Center in Control Panel. (In Godmode it's easy to find).

I'm betting the option you're looking for is in the game itself. Setup? Preferences? Options?
I'm not a gamer so I really can't help much... sorry!

I'm using two...........

http://www.feedspot.com/

http://www.inoreader.com/

I've got another that I've used since the Dark Ages........... it misbehaves on Win8

Abilon.com  ........... used it a long time, but it's hard to find now. Last seen on a site in Romania I think... looks shady but the download was clean and it worked until Win8....... alas :(

I goofed again.............
for some reason I thought you were running  Win8.1.1 so the bit about media streaming options may not apply  :-[

I went back to the beginning of the thread..........
malwarebytes and a change in video cards was when your problem started.

Malwarebytes is gone..........
seems like the video is now prime suspect   :D

Sorry, that's a typo..................

Have you got media streaming enabled? There are some options for media streaming in Network and Sharing Center in Control Panel.

Another question............. you only have one slot filled, your video card. Can you pull the video card and use onboard video??
Someone already mentioned that but if your mobo has onboard video I think now is the hour to see if the video card has a hitch in it's gitalong?

Dot.tech..... same people........
There may only be one or two freebies on the list with a dozen shareware deals, but some good freebies come up. RoboForm, free, one year deal on there today. Days go by without anything I'm interested in but sometimes I get a goodie!
Never hoits to look!  :D
oh yea, and it's free to look.
and I'm not in cahoots with anyone or anything. I couldn't care less one way or the other.

Fate intercedes............. :D
If you are to become another Bill Gates, or the other guy what ate the apple, whatever?, I don't think you can do it by improving, adjusting, revising, whatever?, someone else's product!

You have arrived, with your lust for knowledge, at the perfect time.
What the world needs now is a program to reverse the common web page to deliver the message that the original author presented.
A Rev-editor to remove the two cents worth added by everyone following the author that attempts to make the page prettier, more attention getting, and profitable.
Yea, and Google adds a nickel's worth, not satisfied with their two cents worth!  >:(
Just think what the Cloud providers will think of you when you reduce a web page from 120kb to 6kb before sending it to them for storage. Wow  ;) A chance to become the third big wheel in the computer world.  ;D
No mean feat but I'm sure you can do it! Give it a go.......... and give up on the idea of becoming the guy that added another tab.  :D

hmm, natives are restless this morning  :(

There may be a prescribed treatment for his affliction but over the years I've recommended "Preparation H".
I've been told it tastes like hell but works like a charm.
If you use over the counter medications please follow the instructions carefully though. Apparently more and more people are failing to completely understand simple instructions and applying medications in the wrong place. Applied incorrectly you may not get satisfactory results.  :-[

It appears that Shades has come up with your answer. Are you in the same forum, same ballgame, same ballpark or at the same latitude as the other users that reported the same, or a similar, problem?
Maybe you could verify with other uses what the problem was, or perhaps they found something additional that no one here discovered??
Just a thought!

Hey Folks,

I'm back with good news.  8)

I loaded the tip above to use an external editor in Firefox and had it add an icon to the taskbar.
I had already added the "no lazyload script" to defeat that idiotic feature foisted upon us by How-To-Geek.
Went to the latest HTG newsletter, got a link for their latest goodie, opened it in FF, and saved the page to disk.
Opened the saved page in FF, clicked on View in external editor, where it opened the source in Notepad2 and I brazenly removed the remaining "junk", mostly Google's, and saved the page again.
Back to File Explorer where I opened the saved, edited page, and to my amazement, I have a clean page, with images, no junk, "no you might also likes", no offers to download Google Chrome, just clean info that you could send home to Mom.  :D

The point here is that "with indomnitable courage, natural ability, and a helluva lot of luck" you might solve a problem that's been bugging you for months.

Here's just one item on a long list and again to give you an idea of what it is and a sign-up option.

Many of the giveaway sites limit the time you have to download and install a program but in many cases this one doesn't!
GiveAwayOfTheDay for instance requires you to download and install to register a free program. I don't really want a partitioning program installed until I intend to partition something and SoS emails the product key so you can install when ready.

The sign says ShareWareOnSale but many items are free and you pay a fee for lifetime updates if you want them.
I've never paid for anything there........ the giveaway always seems to come around again before an update is necessary.
YMMV
Give it a look.. 8)

I just remembered............
BCDEdit is another good tool to use playing dual boot roulette.  :D

Google will turn up an abundance of links for this product.

I did a little research before posting here, and a few others have this issue too

Don't give away my secrets, please. :D

Since he's not the sole user with the same problem my query about the byte count was solely to determine if he had installed the "Spring update" for Win8.1.???
No update, many with the same issue, many haven't installed update, a clue perhaps?
sfc replaces any bad system files it finds. If you run sfc and allow it to replace files from a corrupt source you may wind up with more than one bad dll and you may crash your system. Your advice is sage, Grasshopper!

If your computer shows that dll file as 1.06mb in system32 it's not so hot at math either  :D

sfc/ scannow should find a new one but that doesn't seem to be your problem.

I've played mouser's game for years.
New OS? Pull the drive and install a clean drive.
But, if you want to play the silly dual boot bit you might want to take a close look at Easy BCD page. It bailed me out of trouble a couple of times.........

http://neosmart.net/EasyBCD/

I don't recall ever running a dual boot system that didn't turn sour  :D

I'm running the same OS.
My kernelbase.dll is dated 3/19/2014 with a byte count 1087kb if that helps.

I just tried the one for Programs.
Works like a charm, or like Godmode,
and I'm on Win8.1.1 64 also.
Brad cautioned about NOT using Godmode on Vista. See all the remarks to get all the facts.
