Ok, the following are just my honest thoughts. At the end of the day what really matters is that your vision is becoming reality the way you want. I love what you do here and your programs are amazing and so are the people who contribute. I'm only telling you what I think not because I want people to think less of you, but because I wish those financial resources were spent on making donationcoder even better than it already is in a different way.

I was totally shocked to learn that you're paying 400$ a month for hosting services (I had to read it several times, even 400$  a year would look very expensive to me!).
Total overkill. The way I see it, . License key scripts take only a few seconds of cpu power (And I'm guessing you're not getting a new one every 5 minutes),  a forum with less than 10.000 active members + CMS and a few extras here and there, shouldn't cost more than 300 a year. Sure, shared hosting, it works fine. I don't think fpt hosting is needed on your site, the coders don't mind hosting their files anywhere else (all the links would live here).
I ran a forum with 9500 members, online chat (which eats lots and lots of cpu) and online arcade running fine for years, paying 200 a year.
In my opinion, you've created a paralell universe in your mind where you think you need a dedicated server + maintenance, etc. but to an ordinary admin, it looks totally unnecessary given your current needs. At the end of the day, members want to see : life, movement, activity. If the page loads in 0.10 instead of 0.03, cool, but it is meaningless.

By the way, I think donationcoder's skin looks terribly out of date. It feels like visiting a 199x forum. I love it just the same, but I'm just saying...

Clipboard Help+Spell / Re: "Invisible clip" ? (Ignore Clip Hotkey)
« on: April 21, 2017, 03:16 AM »
Thanks Tomos, I was aware of that, yes.

Mouser: I understand that some of our requests are much harder to implement than some of us naïve users imagine. But I don't think that addresses my request at all, because the real life scenario that most people get is completely different: People copy and paste stuff all the time. URLs, images, etc. Then maybe they have to copy a bank account number from their password list app, they have to switch off the program. Then switch it on again. Then they don't want to save an image into the clipboard, off again, on again. Another image, etc. Switching it on and off is actually a rather cumbersome "solution" to the situation I was describing. It makes it even more confusing than actually deleting it manually.
Having said that, being able to toggle on and off the program using a hotkey is definitely a nice addon to the program.

Clipboard Help+Spell / "Invisible clip" ? (Ignore Clip Hotkey)
« on: April 20, 2017, 09:54 AM »
Just a quick question. I don't know the program well enough, I don't think it's a current feature, but is it possible to copy something into windows clipboard but not being recorded by HSP? (call it "invisible clip" if you like).
The reason why I'm asking this is that there are times when you do need something on your clipboard but you don't really want it to be saved into the clipboard manager because you know you're going to have to delete it afterwards (because it's sensitive information or whatever other resason)  so it only adds junk to the clipboard list.
It'd be cool if you could just press a special combination of keys to do that...

IainB: not sure how I phrased that exactly (my appologies)  but the current behaviour (in this beta version) is what I wanted it to be! :)
Thanks Mouser!

After 24 hours operation, I felt I had too many clips on my board, so I went ahead and deleted a few.
What I'm noticing is that, say I have 100 clips. I move a long the list to, say, the 40th one, then I deleted it. The program does it but instead of keeping the focus (with the highlighted bar) on the 39th (which is the last one I reviewed) it scrolls all the way down to my last clip. Very annoying if you're trying to selectively delete some of them.
Is there a way to avoid this?

Yes, makes a lot of sense.
In my case, I use the task bar below the desktop a lot, rather than having to click on the hidden icons. If I click on the X, it disappears from the task bar and I have to find it on the hidden icons menu.
It basically amounts to 1 extra click everytime I want to open the app, not a big deal I suppose, but still...

9
When I open CHS, the minimize icon (on the top right) is greyed out. Both the maximize and the close icons are working fine.
Tried re-starting the program a couple of times but that didn't help.

Running Windows 10.

Awesome app!
I was wondering: is there anything similar to this available for pc that you can think of?

Thanks for that.

Wish list: Add ability to take circular snapshots (you know, stuff outside the circle=transparent). I did a quick search and no other program can do that...
And yes, I know that it's not too difficult to edit a snapshot in gimp, painshopt or photoshop, but neither is taking a snapshot with printscreen and pasting it in there and then adding stuff, just not as straight forward as CHS.

Finished Programs / Re: Frameless.exe

There is one little program that I have on my laptop and I use it to display animated gifs with a transparent background. The program is called Impression: eyes, made by utilhaven (shareware, but the freeware version does work ok. and YES, it´s 100% FRAMELESS!!).
Unfortunately, utilhaven has closed down... so I don't know what's happening with the program.

Interesting read. I thought everyone was using the "Download helper" add-on for firefox (Nearly 6 million users!).  Completely free, lets you choose which version of the video to download and many extra features.

15
Wow! I'm impressed!

This is a feature request.

There is one feature which I think could improve screencaptor: a custom stamp tool. (you know, where you can add images to a custom list which you can then use in your annotations. Like acrobat but better) This feature, if added, would need to allow transparent png images, or else the stamp tool would not be that useful.
I often find myself needing to annotate screenshots with images which I use all the time. I can do this with an image editor, of course, but it takes a fair bit of time...

General Software Discussion / Re: What Android Apps Do You Use?
« on: March 02, 2013, 05:20 AM »
On my Galaxy SII:

- X-plore: Free file manager, better than most paid ones. It even takes care of zipped files, it has image + video viewer, etc. etc.
- Tweetcaster: if you use twitter, this is just outstanding. Has so many useful features... I love the multiple account management.
- Sundroid: I thought this was crap, but it's actually very useful! it tells you the exact time the sun sets and rises wherever you are, moon phases, etc. (the paid version has some really weird features also!)
- PicSay Pro: really simple to use photo effects editor. Lots of features. Just cool and easy.
- Meetup app for Android: if you do use meetup, it just works!
- EzPDF Reader (Reader + annotator!) Just awesome, better than any other pdf viewer. The annotating options are just amazin and simple.
Smart TaskSwitcher: I've tried them all, but this is the only one that did it for me. This is paid (really cheap though) and does a great job, I particularly love the mini (really mini!) icon displaying the remaining battery life with a 2 digit number.
Hi-Q MP3 recorder: simply brilliant. Voice to mp3 recorder, really easy to use, fast, reliable, good sound quality.
- Chrome for Android. The latest versions work incredibly well. (I do like Dolphin also, wouldn't use any of the other browsers out there though...)
- Train Crisis: out of several thousand games out there, this is the one I like the most. Outstanding HD graphix, it'll make you think, it'll test your ability with your fingers, it'll keep you interested for a long time!
- BeyondPod: if you´re serious about podcasts, you'll get this and not look back...
- Game-Clock Deluxe. Really useful if you're serious about two player time-controlled games such as chess, draughts, word games, etc. Give it a try!

More next time. ;)

Ok, I've done some more research and I've found one program that does it!
It's called "Impression: eyes" (impressioneyes) from utilheaven.com
I've downloaded the shareware version and it works incredibly well, I love it. (registration is only 3.99 anyway).

I'd never seen anything like it before. It's awesome! Now, what do I use it for? basically, sometimes I make small video files using some screen video capture on my computer, and this is a really dirty simple way to add interesting stuff, like call outs, etc. since the image can be dragged around. Really cool.

21
I don't even know if such a thing exists!
I'm basically trying to find an image viewer which will let me view a transparent .png image wihout any frames whatsoever (most programs can reduces frames to a minimum, but they still show those frames! and then of course, they don't display a .png file correctly, they substitute the transparent color with black or white).
Does anybody know of a program that does this?

Cheers!

Post New Requests Here / Re: IDEA: VPR, visual people randomizer!
« on: September 29, 2010, 03:11 AM »
Wow, it's looking pretty sleak!  :)

Ok, here are some of the things which I think need improving:

- Score column: most of the time, when I click on it, the number doesn't go up. Sometimes I have to click several times for the number to go up. (Same thing with right click, number doesn't go down unless I click on it several times).

- If the list is longer the the height of the names column, you don't get to see who's been chosen unless you scroll down, which is a bit annoying.

- The ramdom routine is not so effective if you get a very long list (i.e. more than 25 people), as the highlight doesn't reach the end sometimes. (maybe add ability to choose speed of the rouitine + how long it lasts?)

Other than that, great work!

Just had a quick look and it's looking very nice (color selector and all!).
I think the list for the first release is fine. Perhaps the "3rd column" which I mentioned...

Regarding the specific actions, it would be nice if that could be added (maybe a future version) but I think it might be a lot of work for you right now? But yes, that would be most useful indeed.
Regarding the extra column: I am looking for specific actions here. It's basically going to be used like a scoring system. But editing the numbers manually is kind of painful, so I was thinking of just being able to click on each one of the cells on this column and the number would go up (or right button, number goes down). You know, making it easy to keep a score. And then if the whole thing can be exported / imported onto the program, that'd be cool. (I'm thinking of using it in a classrooms, and I go from one classroom to another, different schools. I have to load/save the data all the time).

Cheers! :)

I've just tested it.
That's so cool!  singingboyo!

I love the idea of being able to display more than one list at a time.Very nice.

Ok, I know this is pretty hard, but here are some features that I'd like to see.

- Sound effects
- Ability to open/save lists with all the data (number of selections, etc.)
- Ability to import or paste a text list.
- Ability to set size for display window (when the list is too large, you don't get to see who gets picked)
- Ability to definer colours: chosen name, background or text changes to #dafaff (whatever)
- Define colours per selection: 1 selecion = green, 2 red, 3 blue (whatever) etc.
- Ability to choose a name manually (clicking on it?)
- Add table column with extra data. The cells on this column behave like this: number goes up every time you click on it. (program's width doesn't need to change, the selections column and this one can be thinner)
- Randomizer effect mode: a) straight line, goes down like now  b) unpredictable (it hops from list name 1 to 7, then 9, then 3, then 24, then 2, then it stops)
- Randomizer safe mode: prevent names on the list from being picked more than once until al the other have been picked. (In fact, maybe the selections column is unnecessary if the text of a name on the list changes colours once is has been picked once, twice, etc.).

Anyway, that's all I can think of right now.

It looks very nice. Nice job singingBoyo!

My apologies again, since nobody replied to this post, I thought nobody was interested and apparently I did not have the notify option activated.

Scancode: that would be awesome indeed, great concept! :)
