1 Software / Screenshot Captor / Re: Request updates to "Options > File Naming Template" on: May 04, 2012, 06:34:03 AM
Thanks Ath.

1. If I take two (or more) screens on one day, I get:
"screen_2012.04.22.png" and then
"screen_2012.04.22 002.png"
The latter has a space in the file name, due to the auto sequencing feature adding " 002". Since I work a lot towards the web I would prefer it to add an underscore rather than a space, so ideally for me, screenshot number two would be suffixed with "_02" instead of " 002".

The screenshot in my post above shows my settings and in the background you can see two named files as an example. I know I can use %num% to always add the counter but I was hoping to avoid the extra length of the file name.

Is this not the correct place to request features, is there a bugtracker I should submit a ticket to?
3 Software / Screenshot Captor / Request updates to "Options > File Naming Template" on: April 22, 2012, 06:13:07 AM
I love this software, it's a great time saver and helps me stay productive. Thanks a bunch for the new magnifier precapture! Would love SC even more if:

1. Auto sequencing didn't add a space in the filename (an underscore would be preferrable for use online). I realize there are workarounds (always including timestamp or %num%), but they are just that, not fixes. Prefer short filename.

2. There were two fields for naming templates: "If %quickfield% nonempty, use this template ____  else use this template ___". Or simply a checkbox "Quickfield overrides regular naming template".

3. When pressing F2 in the main view (to rename current file), the file extension was not selected. This way I can easily open SC post capture, hit F2 and override the entire filename just by typing test1 and it would be saved as test1.png . I use QTTabBar to achieve this across the system, but sadly it doesn't work in the SC thumb pane.
Edit: Another option is of course to focus the "Name" field whenever a singe file is selected in thumbs pane.

Thanks and keep up the good work!

Thanks for a nice frontend.

My two cents: I hadn't seen mention of the drag-drop part, so I just assumed there was an "add files"-button somewhere in the UI. One of the few enabled buttons was the "add running processes" so I assumed that was for adding files to queue and clicked it. That sparked 10+ scans which I hadn't planned on. Just saying - in case number of scans is still an issue - the current UI might lead to unneccesary scans.

Amusing that the only running process where a detection was reported was from Screenshotcaptor Wink

I'd also like to "pin" the arrows view, either through automatic saving of the entire layout/workspace, or through a little sticky-pin toggle next to the title of the object toolboxes. Thanks.
6 Software / Screenshot Captor / Re: Image upload feature? on: June 04, 2008, 09:51:47 PM
Would just like to say I second this request. So often I grab a little region to show to others on irc and whatnot.

I see the suggestions above and those in the FTP upload thread, but I really would like to avoid adding even more stuff to my Windows context-menu, and would like to have a really super-simple way of capturing+sharing. I am thinking the easiest would be to have Imageshack, Photobucket etc right there on the "Send to" menu in SC? Preferably you'd want a progress bar and the final url copied to clipboard - but I don't know how accessible their API's are, if it's feasible to add or not - I am simply voicing my wishes.

Thanks for your time, keep up the good work!
7 Software / Screenshot Captor / Re: autoscroll capture need fixed bug. on: June 04, 2008, 09:28:33 PM
leave large area black color remain on desktop.

No biggie for me, but thought I'd let you know, mouser. This happens to me each time I try to scroll-capture my Firefox 2 Addons view (19 addons installed). The red border detects the scrollable window correctly, but when I ctrl+shift+click to start capture it will enter a loop where the capture area flashes in black, the scroll never moves, and the area is left black even after I hit escape. I can reproduce this every time, on both monitors. Using v2.37.03 on xp sp3, 2 monitors, nvidia gfxcard+drivers. Scroll-cap of other windows such as webpages works flawlessly on both monitors.  Thmbsup

clickable breadcrumbs would be helpful.

That is what QTAddressBar is for. It is a separate download.
I have both QTTabBar and QTAddressBar, with the optional tab-image found on QT-website, it looks like this:

After using this setup for a couple of days I knew it would be on my list of mandatory apps to install on a new system Wink

second this request... OR have a "copy to.." menu, not only a "move to.." Wink

I *think* I read sometime that you do need 3rd party app to do that, the very base of explorer.exe is built in a way that makes dual pane very tough to make useful/responsive. I might be fooled by my memory though.

I love this software, the only thing I would want in addition is that QTAddressbar actually did something when you just type stuff and hit enter, now it does nothing, but I'd like to see either open default browser with google search for entered term, or regular computer search, or even a launch-bar functionality - as long as its *something* - all other aspects of the app that I can think of are already implemented  Cool (yes I did post this request on their site)

Hey guys, I couldn't find any similar requests, hope someone likes the idea and is up for it smiley

A little background:

I made some screens (using Screenshotcaptor, of course smiley ) to help explain what I am picturing

turn this

into this

Summary of features:
- For WinXP (and Vista?)
- Should be instant/fast loading
- Support jpg, gif, png
- Small footprint (implement as a .dll/control panel icon or something simple, not a big app with tray icons etc)

Ideas for optional features (that probably requires a lot more work)
 - A setting to enable/disable the addon for each Explorer viewtype (thumbnails/icons/list/details etc)
 - Display on hover or on mark/single click file
 - User definable max thumbnail size
 - Support more images like tif, tga, and possibly also pdf
 - Cache

Thanks for your time.
- Chris
