The wizards is very straightforward for the application firewall. For the other wizards, you might need to get someone experienced to help you.

No big deal if they require details, just make stuff up.

Agreed, Lite and Simple. LnS is a very good investment. You can use it out of the box. It is the "No Nonsense" Firewall.
It's not free but you only need to pay once.

Uninstall works perfectly for FD-ISR. You can keep the snapshots after you uninstall.
Usually, Raxco's version will be a few weeks later after Leapfrog release.

This is how I use FD-ISR:

- Gaming Snapshot
I keep everything to a minimal. Since I play games offline, no AV, no real time monitor, etc. My snapshot size is only 1.5 gb after compression.

- Backup Snapshot
If the main snapshot gets screwed, I use this backup to recover.

- Main Snapshot
This is the snapshot I use for everything else. Surfing, BetaTesting, Work, etc.
I always backup before installing new software/updates. Backup takes about 1 min for me.

- Guest Snapshot
Everything locked down.

I don't think RestoreIT can let you have many different scenarios to work with.
Rollback Rx made me format my harddisk with their early version. After that, no more Rollback for me.

I recommend FD-ISR. You can trial it first since install/uninstall works.

I think there is a nag screen if your subscription ended. Not sure if they will change that annoying factor.

This is a great software. Using it since last year. Very stable unlike Rollback Rx.
Support with Raxco is also excellent for me.

to AdIyhc: That might be AVG's fault too though, If it goes through the filter before/after IE accesses the net avg may think the browser has been hijacked. I will look into your problem though.
Leave some Details (os/version,avg version,browser) ect,.. =) Without details you can't get your problem fixed.

I have not come across "System Safety Monitor" - does anyone know of any comparisons of these types of tools - I have ProcessGuard, ApplicationGuard and RegDefend but I haven't used them in a while - maybe it is time to try them again but it would be good to know about useful alternatives too.
