I'm confident NirSoft has such a tool.

I'm only aware of NirSoft's ServiWin but I don't believe it allows you to save/load a profile whereby you can start/stop a list of services.  Were you referring to a different tool?

And there I was just making a joke about a possible mockup image  Grin

Nope, not a mockup image; I actually designed it that way from the start.   cheesy

Would it not be better to have the ability to chain from one profile to another rather than have one hotkey that calls two at the same time ...

That's how I had planned to do it.  That is, profiles would be executed sequentially, not concurrently. However, that does make me think that it might not be a bad idea for one of the profile "actions" to be the launching of another profile.  I'll give it some thought.
5  DonationCoder.com Software / Skwire Empire / Re: (Pre) Release: sChecklist on: November 20, 2014, 03:41:04 PM
Say, Skwire, in the screenshot at the top, you have the sort-checked-to-top and sort-checked-to-bottom buttons in your toolbar.  How can I have that?  My commands are trapped inside a dropdown-menu-button.

I moved all the sort options to the drop-down button a few builds ago.

Also, I notice that "sort checked to bottom" also sorts the list alphabetically.
That is not what I expected - I expected it not to rearrange all my carefully organized list but to just moved the checked items to the bottom.  There is "sort alphabetically" if I wanted automatic sorting.

You make a good point.  Let me see what I can do.

Is there anything that will quickly allow me to toggle a bunch of services on and off?  For example, if I want to do a lot of photoshopping, I want to disable a bunch of unecessary services to speed things up.  Then I want to reenable them again once I'm done.  is there anything where I can make a few profiles or something and toggle them?

So, you can do this with a couple of batch files and the "net stop <service name>" and "net start <service name>" commands.  However, you have perfect timing.  If you can wait until next month, this is what I'm working on for NANY this year:

[attachthumb=1]

It's called Splat (Simple Profile Launcher Application Tool) and will allow you to build profiles that allow you create list of applications and services to start/close/kill.  You can insert delays based on number of seconds or cpu usage threshold.  Also, you can assign each profile a hotkey as well as use one hotkey to execute multiple profiles.  It's sort of like a GUI version of App's Lacuna Launcher.

NirSoft have several WiFi-related tools:

Hi epCheck dev, the program is really fun, thank you for your hard work.

You're very welcome.  I'm glad you find it useful.  Welcome to DonationCoder, too.   cheesy  And, I'm sure Jim was being quite sincere about his comment regarding your post.  I agree with him; it's a great first post.   smiley

For no apparent reason and at various times the tooltip for "Search and add series" will pop up

I see this as well from time to time and I'm 99.9% positive it's due to the toolbar class I use.  I can ask the toolbar class author about it.

1 ... The ability to add our own (extra) series images, abiding by the image dimensions already specified. I think you can but they get deleted when the series is updated.

Sure, this is absolutely doable and add to my ToDo list.

It would be pretty cool to mouse over any elipsed text and the full line is revealed, maybe as a bubble/balloon tooltip.

This is easily doable with one caveat -- when a window is set to AlwaysOnTop, the tooltip doesn't work.  I think it's a bug/limitation within AHK, so, if you can live with that, I can add that.

3 ... The ability to Search for an episode title or for an episode title keyword that appears in various episodes, similiar to Find, Find Next, (Find All in Current Series) - similiar to text editor functionality.

This has been asked for before but I held off then to allow epCheck to mature a bit.  However, it might be time to reinvestigate adding something like this.  I've added it to my ToDo.

4 ... Series and Series Episode "Details" buttons - highlight a series from list, click "Series Details", the details would be something like Starring, From/To Dates, # of eps, etc. Click an episode, "Episode Details" might contain guest stars, etc. Possibly this info could be user created and maintained, stored in a file, the button might bring up the text in the default text editor, maybe something a bit nicer, a nice dialog box with preconfigured fields that are read from a file that the user will maintain and edit with a specified layout undecided

I like this idea.  However, I doubt I'd make it user-definable since I think most of the data you want is contained within the XML data files.  If it's missing, say, certain guest stars, I think it'd be preferable to add that data to TVDB.com so that all can benefit.

It might be a few weeks before I can get to any of this, though.  Work deadlines this week, holiday next week, NANY coding in December, etc.  In the meantime, have you checked out the latest beta?  If not:

http://www.donationcoder....36877.msg368839#msg368839

I already incorporated your ellipsed/tooltip feature into that build.  Cheers.   cheesy

I guess it would be nice to (or have options to):
1. trim any digits off the end of the common prefix found
2. and/or not include any partial word (unless it is the FIRST word)

And the hairiness starts...   undecided

Hi, xd1986k, and welcome to the DonationCoder site.   smiley

Hello. Would it be possible to add a feature to find common text between files and use that as an name for the folder?
eg we have  files
[Chemistry] Workbook 01.rar
[Chemistry] Workbook 02.rar
[Chemistry] Workbook 03.rar
So the new folder is named [Chemistry] Workbook.

This is doable.  However, in your example, technically, the common text would be "[Chemistry] Workbook 0" right?

As the title suggests, I'm looking for a good way (that actually works) to send and receive sms and mms from my computer.

I use MyPhoneExplorer for this purpose (for SMS, at least).

The first is probably trivial: you can't really stretch a wallpaper across an L-shaped space. I must research the possibility of landscape and portrait wallpapers being used simultaneously...

I never tested it with that configuration, but you might consider giving my Wallpaper Welder application a try.

I went ahead and entered a bunch of series, and I do see them in the monthly view.
In the series view there is nothing, but there IS a scroll bar where the series names should be.

I'm going to bet the columns are all at zero-width.  Click into the listview and press Ctrl+NumpadPlus.  Let me know what happens.

I got one little problem with the tabbar

I've seen this occasionally and is most likely due to the tab control trickery I have to use for the new Options section (to get around an AHK limitation).  Does it do it every time for you?  I've made a minor change in regards to this in the latest beta.  Would you mind downloading and testing again?

Looks like I'm having one problem with the beta - in the Weekly tab, marking new shows as 'viewed' does not stick - closing epCheck and then re-opening finds the shows now unchecked.

Good catch.  This should be fixed in the latest beta above (and now you know why I said backup!).

Also it looks like previously checked episodes (from v1.1.5.1) become unchecked if I increase the 'number of past days to show' and those shows then become included in the new Weekly view.
Another odd thing: several shows now have their entire history of checkoffs missing from the Series view; others still show the checks I had previously done.

I think this might have been related to the bug above.  If it's not too much to ask, would you mind re-testing things?

One more:  on the Monthly Options, I can only choose 5 or 6 weeks.  The changelog says "...configurable to show between four and six weeks."

Doh.  Forgot to change the changelog.  I originally had it configurable between four and six but changed it to five and six.  Basically, if you want to be guaranteed that all the days of every month show, you must choose six.  If you can live with some months being cut short at the end, you can choose five.  It all just depends on which weekday a given month happens to start on.  The only time four rows would have worked is if February started on a Sunday and wasn't a leap year.  Otherwise, I felt four rows routinely cut off too many days at the end of a month (so I took out the four rows option).  Does that make sense?

You're welcome.   smiley  I think that might set some AHK record for number of listviews visible on a single form.   tongue

Looking at tonight's shows in the Weekly tab and was surprised to see no "Selfie S01E07" (yeah, I'm the one watching it lol).  Checked the Series tab and it is there.
[...]
Not a huge issue for this incredibly useful program but maybe you have a suggestion?

I know exactly what's causing it.  It's a logic error on my part where I assumed a series marked as "Ended" wouldn't have any episodes to air, thereby saving me a date calculation in the code.  Silly me, eh?  embarassed  Anyway, this is fixed in my development build which has a boatload of other additions/changes.  Namely, a big monthly view and a totally revamped Options section.  I suppose I could release it as a beta.  So, if you, or anybody, is brave enough, make a copy of your epCheck folder and run the following from there:

http://skwire.dcmembers.com/apps/epcheck/epCheck_.zip

Obviously, feedback is welcome.  However, please note that the Monthly view isn't totally complete at this point.  I'm still undecided on a few things regarding it.  Here are some screenshots:
