I would use IrfanView to print the photos as mentioned above as contact sheets. I would then use XnView to print the contact sheets as one PDF using PrimoPDF. It might be a little roundabout, but it is easy and is free

If you are using Internet Explorer look at IEPro http://www.ie7pro.com It enables one to keep a list proxies and one can change proxy very easily. IEPro is free.

I tried Burn To The Brim. This did part of what I wanted. I also tried SizeMe. Again this did part of what I wanted.

Finally I tried PackEmIn from PCMag. This was the best and seems to do everything I want.

I want to back up a series of files to DVD. In total, there is about 20 GB of files. I want the files to be on the DVD in original format, not zipped or any other format. In the past I have just selected a group of files that would fit on a DVD and burn that, but this gets fiddly.

I have checked the forum discussion on backups but none of the programs seem to do this.

Is there a program that will allow one to select a range of files and directories, break them into DVD sized groups so that they can be burnt to DVD ( or burn directly to DVD)?

One of the best known (in the Linux world) incremental backup program is rysnc http://rsync.samba.org/. It is used extensively to synchronize mirrors of files etc . It is explained at http://rsync.samba.org/how-rsync-works.html.

I use it on a Windows PC to backup to a Linux server. It is a command line program, not a GUI but when setup works very effectively.

After much testing and looking for a suitable solution, particularly one that was free I chose Unison http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~bcpierce/unison/. It was a bit fiddly to set up, but I have it synchronising my documents and favorites at home and at work. It only moves the parts of a file that has changed and not the whole file. This is based on rsync.

Remote back up is a good idea. You might want to look at rsync to minimise the data transferred when only a few items change. http://rsync.samba.org.

For automated incremental back up there is a good php script RIBS (Rsync Incremental Backup Script) http://www.rustyparts.com/ribs.php. I use this successfully to back up several web servers to another. Even for multiple backups not too much disk space is used.

Similar scripts can be found at http://www.rsnapshot.org and http://www.mikerubel.org/computers/rsync_snapshots. I have not tried these.

When installing 2.00.76 and I had input the licence code the "saved" windows was cutoff at the bottom. This was Windows 2000 and it should be noted that I an using Large Fonts.

I tried the dialer. It needed 2 dll ;cg32.dll & CC3260MT.DLL. I found both but the dialer did not work.

As indicated above if an app like this which when started, dials the phone number in the clipboard and then close, it would be perfect.

Unfortunately not working at all!

I use the PC  to dial the phone both at home & work. I do not  mis-dial and it is very fast. I dial from a contact data base that I find very useful. It is PSA Cards. I have a registered version and I believe that it  is the best. I researched for a very long time. Unfortunately development has now ceased and the registered version is no longer available.

Setting up the modem is not hard at all.

I would also like a small application, which when started, dials the phone number in the clipboard and then close. This would help when I meed to dial a number from an email or from a web page. I have not found such a program yet!

RIBS is run by cron jobs. Theservers doneed shell access.

It is very efficent and easy to use.

While I PC based programs may work well, I like the Web based services. They can check sites every day and email the results. Hence the results can be received any where through webmail and your PC does not need to be going. I personally like Watch That Page http://www.watchthatpage.com. It is a free service for normal use and is very good, but does not have all the features of some of the others.

My ideal would be to a have my own server based program, (written in PHP) andrunning on my own server. It could have the features of the PC programs and I would have full control of the program.
