I've been daily reliant on PhraseExpress for a few years now.
At first it was for my poor spelling mistakes (as I am a very fast typist).
And then for basic html coding, but now I have uses for nearly everything.

ex: TimeDateStamps for renaming files.
Web forms entry: name, address, password, etc.
Rapid html/css coding.
Windows command line, and Cygwin when I SSH to my sites.

Aside from Chrome, I'd have to say it's my most widely used app.

I flash a new updated or custom ROM to my device every few weeks.

... The policy (last time I checked - I believe it's still valid) on electronics is 90 days - no questions asked.

On non-electronics, they have an essentially unlimited return policy.

Actually, the 90 policy you mention applies ONLY to:
televisions, projectors, computers, cameras, camcorders, touch screen tablets, MP3 players and cellular phones.
(that was a direct copy/paste from their corporate site, as they have adjusted the items.)

Everything else is allowable to return beyond 90 days, with or without a receipt.
I've seen dead plants returned after winter.
I've seen christmas trees returned in january.
I've seen a half empty bottle of wine returned because it tasted funny.
I've seen someone return several jumping balloons all scraped up, full of dirt and debris. I don't remember what his claim was, but he received a full refund, in cash. Later we found a few childrens socks and shoes between some of the balloons.


Costco offers what they call "double guarantee".
They guarantee your satisfaction on your membership. They guarantee your satisfaction on your purchase.
I've even had a member request a refund of their membership fee, a few days before the end of their year ($100) because they were unsatisfied. They would then return a few days/weeks later to buy a whole new year, thus saving them $100 per year. People are sneaky!!!

I used to go shopping for the ninety-sevens on my days off. I'd make a list of them, check inventory for quantity, and depending on what they were (food, seasonal, electronics), I'd then notify a friend of mine. He would go in, buy as many as he wanted, and then resale them on eBay, Craigslist, etc.

I think I will mount my T.P. roll in the wall, and have the sheet come out through a thin slit.

can you delete from the bottom up?

if you can delete 1, try 5, then 10, etc and see if you can get it down to something reasonable

I'e tried that at the root of the folder, middle, and at the end.
At the end, where the last Camera folder is at, and also where the photo files are, I'm not able to delete them.

When I try to delete them via command line, it says: The system cannot find the path specified.
When I try to delete them via Explorer window, it says: The name(s) were too long for the destination folder. You can shorten the file name and try again.

That's why I renamed all the original '/Camera/' folders to single numerals.
It actually DID help, as I was able to navigate further than before.

I'm stuck now, because all I've tried no longer works.

Your best bet might be to just copy over anything you still want and then reformat the SD card.

That's where I was a few hours ago.
Everything attempted via command line results with a message about the filename being too long.
So I've manually gone and done this:

Now all the above directories are EMPTY.
I am renaming all "/Camera/" folders to single-digits. Each Camera folder has ninety-something JPG files in them.

Using the above mentioned command: "rmdir /S /Q dirnamehere" does nothing.
Then I started renaming the "/Camera/" folders and deleting the photos: del *.jpg

I've got (I lost count) X folders deep, and now my commands say:
The system cannot find the path specified.
The file name is too long.

I'm currently in a folder and can not delete any photos, nor can I rename the Camera folder.
This is proving to be a real pain in the butt.

To make sure I was using it right, I made a bunch of embedded directories, and ran the app.

I cry because it doesn't run well on my T-Mobile G2x.
It runs AWESOME on my old NexusOne.

But on the G2x, it plays for a few seconds, and freezes. The audio still plays though.

I extracted the contents of "delage32.zip" to a temp directory. And ran my first command:

Is there any software on the card?  If it's just storage, find out how to format it.  That will delete everything.

Around 3-4 months ago, my wifes phone (Motorola Defy) suddenly slowed to a pathetic crawl.
It would take forever to accomplish anything. She didn't know why, but I suspected some rogue app.
I forget all the steps I took to isolate the condition, but I found that the camera would store every photo in its own directory. Plus it did the same for thumbnails.
Long terrible situation > short ... her phone no longer works.
Now, at this time, she only had her phone for about 4-5 months. TOPS!!!
She used the camera regularly, nothing outrageous.
I made a backup of her 8GB microSD card.
It was filled to the max!
WTF?

I ran Microsoft Security Essentials on this backup folder.
When it finished, it reported no issues. But it DID scan 12,408 directories.
FRIGGIN' CRAZY, RIGHT??!??!
The attached screenshot is about half way through the scan.

What's REALLY odd, I was able to delete all the photos. But the empty folders are still there.

So my question: how can I delete all these folders?

I assume you have search mode set to extended to allow escapes like \n. If your file is using DOS line endings, try using \r\n instead of just \n.

When I used to use EditPad (years ago) it had a feature that I could highlight a few rows, and hit the Find & Replace hotkey. It allows multiline ability like that. I'll check it out.

I find it a little time consuming having to learn a new app just for a simple function, but it was simple.

I do tons of html/css coding.
Let's say for example, I have the following simple code:

Currently, in Notepad++ (v5.7 as of this entry), I have to manually delete the few rows between those tags.
I've got dozens of pages that need this correction.
Sometimes, it's between the closing of one div tag, and the opening of another, so now I've got dozens of (what I call) GAPS inbetween my code.
No biggie, as it's just wasted space, a few bytes here and there.
But when I'm done coding a site, that's one of the last things that I do. Is remove all the unnecessary spaces, tabs, etc. to shave off some download times. Minimal, yes, but over several dozen and sometimes a hundred pages, it makes a difference.

I would have thought that doing a Find & Replace using

would work, but it doesn't.

Yes but if he has to sell old modules with a loss it might be a better deal to get 2x1gb. When the time for more comes it will most likely be DDR3 since new motherboard with usb3 and other "must-haves" requires that. Expansion plans require some determination, most with money to spend will not stick to them

The "loss" now would be better than the "loss" later. As recommended, to get the 2x2GB now, so I CAN expand upon it later, should I upgrade to a 64-bit MoBo.

i dont know that an ssd is right for what ails Jammo.

personally here's what i would do if i were Jammo:
1) immediately upgrade to at least 4gb -- that is probably the fastest, easiest, cheapest way to improve performance significantly.
2) get a new fast hard drive (10k or at least 7k), and swap out your old one and put in the new one, and install a clean OS from scratch, and see how fast it feels.

I've never used TrueCrypt. I've read alot about it here on the forums, and know it's highly recommended. So it's worth my interest.

I failed to mention that I upgraded to a 1TB drive earlier this year, OOPS!
It's got two partitions: a 100GB part for my OS, and the remainder for data.

EDIT: yes, 4GB is the max. Google is my friend! Win7-64bit can use 8GB.

Yeah, I run CCleaner maybe once a week. I remove everything. Cookies, cache, temp folders, wipe free space, and maybe once a month I check the Advanced box.
I defrag using Defraggler, and Auslogics. I alternate. I run it maybe every couple weeks, if the analysis recommends it is needed.
As for the registry, I use what's built into CCleaner.

My work habits have not changed.
When I'm working, I usually have Notepad+, Stylizer, Firefox and/or Chrome, and sometimes Fireworks open. If I'm working offline, XAMPP is running, otherwise FileZilla.
When things get bogged down, a quick glance at the Task Manager reveals that Firefox is consuming the most memory. Sometimes it's Chrome. I restart the browser and only keep the tabs I need. I've removed all the extensions I don't use.
In the background I've got PhraseExpress, GridMove, Find&Run Robot, and a few other little apps.

Install & reinstall software? Nope. I'm pretty set in my ways, except for the most recent addition of Stylizer.
I've used the same apps for a very long time now.


Twice a year, I verify and validate my backups. Then reinstall my OS.
I actually have it fairly streamlined. Any app updates are downloaded to USB stick before I format. All the apps I've installed are outlined in a chronologically logged text file with install date, & source URL. I used to use a TiddlyWiki file, but I spent more time playing with it than actually working with it

I am not a gamer. I am a hobbyist/freelance Web Developer/Designer with Adobe CS4 (I have noticed it takes longer to launch than before). I do lot's of XHTML, CSS, PHP coding. I will watch the occasional movie (either NetFlix streaming or DVD - bluray not necessary).

I'm looking on NewEgg, and there are some CyberpowerPC price under $500-600 whose specs are pretty good. Right?
3.0GHz+, 4 gigs of RAM.
I have never been into hardware and stuff. I know there's lots to it. Web Dev and following those trends is where I spend most of my time. So I kind of need some help deciding what to pursue.
