Well, most of my apps I have "assigned" to a specific monitor. When I install a new app, it takes me some time before I can decide which monitor it belongs to. Two things: all video is on the left. Web browser or anything I'm reading goes on the riight. Not sure what you meant by "all other movements are effectively random". so apart from a few apps that 'must' be on a given monitor, all other movements are effectively random?

Well, I don't work; I'm disabled. But I love to work on my computer, which has two monitors. I play games, check out Facebook and StumbleUpon, but I don't just do that sort of thing. I like to tinker, for lack of a better word, on my machine. So there's no real "workflow". I'm just very particular to how things are on my monitors. Two big things are high on my list. One is which monitor should an app appear, and of course some have to be tossed back and forth. The other is ensuring the app is centered on the monitor. There are a few I place elsewhere, but most are centered. So, in a nutshell, my workflow is OCD. out of curiosity, what's your workflow here?
just wondering how and why you move windows now (ie is there a 'rule set')

Well: I had DisplayFusion, but it was version 3, and well, let's say it wasn't exactly a legit copy. It kept annoying me with pop-ups. And being on disability I can't just throw down $25 for the cheapest paid version. I don't want the free version, as it leaves out a lot of features I want and/or need. As far as WILMA is concerned, I'll have to read more, or rather, again, as my brain hasn't recovered from my sleeping medication from last night. And while Actual Window Manager has the allure of scads of options, RBTray may be a good option, too, for its simplicity. I'll take some time and report back. I've still got AWM installed so I'll fiddle with that too.

Hello all: I'm looking for a neat little app to sit in my tray that will allow me to move a window from monitor to monitor, and also to minimize a window to the system tray. Already UltraMon moves my windows from monitor to monitor via hotkeys. To minimize a window/app to the tray I use DM2 ( https://sourceforge.net/projects/dm2/), and lately been crashing for no reason (I've seen on SourceForge that I'm not the only one with that issue). So does anyone know of an app that does at least those two little things? Other tweaky options are nice and all, but those two are my essentials! BTW I tried Actual Windows Manager, and it's a nightmare of options. I think it may be too much for me.

DonationCoder.com Software / Find And Run Robot / Twitter Plugin Issue
on: September 14, 2012, 09:22:10 AM
Hello all: I can't seem to get the Twitter FARR plugin to work, but it used to. I downloaded and installed the latest plugin. Firstly, in the User Variables of FARR I've entered my username and password (both verified), but there isn't anything about "posttweet" as shown in the pic you show here on DC. Also, the Twitter plugin isn't showing up in the Plugins & Updates section of FARR. Can you help me out? Detailed instructions would be helpful as I sometimes have difficulty with the technicalities of FARR.
Thanks so much!

Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / (Free) Wallpaper Manager? Dual Screen!
on: August 01, 2012, 11:09:12 AM
Hello all: I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good (free) wallpaper manager that supports dual monitors. Currently I use UltraMon for my wallpaper needs, but it's kind of clunky. I'd like something that not only supports dual monitors, but may also offer timed/auto wallpaper changing. It would also be nice if it also had the option to mirror wallpapers made for single monitors. If free is not an option, then maybe something I can find on PirateBay (is that a no-no?). Kind Regards, Daniel Headrick aka siouxdax

Hello all: I've been looking all over the web and can't find anything in the line of a manual or wiki for Pearltrees ( this link should take me to my profile, otherwise just go to pearltrees.com). There's a few symbols and color coding that I can't quite decipher, and hell, I just love manuals and wikis. Can anyone help me out? I'm getting a little frustrated. BTW, It's been so long since I've been on here. I promise to get more involved this year! Kind Regards, Daniel Headrick

DonationCoder.com Software / Find And Run Robot / FARR Twitter Alias
on: March 13, 2012, 03:29:57 AM
How on Earth do I configure the Twitter alias? I want to just type "tw" followed by a space, then my tweet. It used to work, but for some reason doesn't now. Do I need to edit it and somehow add my username and password, and where do I do that in the string. I'm a bit lost. Any help is very much appreciated! This is the string in question: Direct Message (user): $$1 (message): $$2 | %ALIASDIR%\curl.exe -u %uservar.TwitterPlugin.username%:%uservar.TwitterPlugin.password% -d user="$$h1" -d text="$$h2" http://twitter.com/direct_messages/new.xml /ICON=icons\Twitter.ico /WINHID How do I modify it so that it works again? I could really use your help in this one! Unless you guys know of a better Twitter FARR alias?

I've always been skeptical about these pads, so not long after I purchased my laptop I picked up a Targus laptop stand. It's just a little four-armed adjustable stand that raises the laptop a little over an inch in the rear, slanting downward toward the front. I've never had any heat issues, and I've had this laptop for nearly six years.

DonationCoder.com Software / FARR Plugins and Aliases / Re: Looking for 'new email' using Thunderbird
on: July 19, 2010, 07:06:05 PM
A start:
right click on your desktop or in a folder and select New and then select Shortcut.
Where the wizard asks for "location of the item" type in "Mailto:" without the quotes but with the colon.
At the next prompt type in a name (eg NewMail). When you doubleclick the shortcut, it should open up a new email for editing, using your default mail client.
At least that's how it works for me, using XP SP3 with Outlook Express.
Thank you, AndyM, but I'm looking for a FARR alias, not a shortcut.

DonationCoder.com Software / FARR Plugins and Aliases / Looking for 'new email' using Thunderbird
on: July 19, 2010, 06:17:50 PM
Hello all: I'm looking for a simple alias that would open a new email via Thunderbird. If anyone wants to whip up one, I would like to just type in 'new' (without the quotes) and upon hitting enter, open a fresh email in Thunderbird. Keep in mind that I don't use the default path for it. I use 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe'. Also, it would be snazzy if I entered 'new username@email.com' ( username@email.com being someone's email addy) that it would open a fresh email already addressed to said email address. Really, I'd be happy to do this myself if I knew how! If such an alias already exists, do let me know. I've been searching on here, but haven't really found anything. Any help, suggestions, etc, would be much appreciated!

DonationCoder.com Software / FARR Plugins and Aliases / "Go" Alias SLOW!
on: March 16, 2010, 03:33:06 AM
Hello all: It's been ages since I've posted on here, and I really feel bad that my new post is a complaint. But...
I have an alias, "Go", which really just uses the "I'm Feeling Lucky" function of Google. I type "go Siouxsie" and it takes me to the "I'm Feeling Lucky" result for Siouxsie. What the problem is, is that after I press 'enter', FARR will sit there for up to a minute before producing the result. Now I understand that this may take a while if I don't already have Firefox open, but when it is open, I don't quite get it. When Firefox is open, it responds almost instantly most of the time, when it sits there and 'waits' is what frustrates me, but it doesn't happen all the time.
Anyone have any suggestions? Or maybe an explanation of why this may be happening?
As usual, thank you all for your help and suggestions!

DonationCoder.com Software / Find And Run Robot / Doesn't Want To Stay Put!
on: January 14, 2010, 05:28:48 AM
Hello all: I've been having problems with FARR not behaving as far as sizing and placement are concerned. Since the date is now shown in the title bar, I widened FARR to accommodate it. Also I use Skrommel's WinWarden to place it at the top, center. But it won't stay that way. It seems that as far as the widening is concerned, it only changes when I restart my machine. But concerning the placement at top, center, it drifts over time, regardless of whether or not I restart the machine. So, anyone else notice this? Is there a setting somewhere that I'm overlooking? As usual, any help/suggestions are very much appreciated!
