Looks interesting, thanks!

I'm looking for something more like Google Docs idea, but I like to host it myself, rather than on google servers.

Unfortunately, I don't use sharepoint, and have no plans to set that up.  I can only find hosted solutions, not offline ones.

Hi

I 'm looking for ways to have multiple users working on excel collaboratively. I would like to host it myself, and not on other servers. I do not need full Excel functionality, so I could use another software, it just more entering data and sorting.
5  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Is there such a tool to remove folder with 1 item on: February 24, 2010, 08:36:58 AM
Yes, that's the idea. It's not terribly difficult to do but I just don't have to time to do it (in C#). If I find more time for programing....
6  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Is there such a tool to remove folder with 1 item on: February 23, 2010, 11:05:41 AM
yes, most tools just remove empty folders only. they don't do what I want.
7  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Is there such a tool to remove folder with 1 item on: February 21, 2010, 11:22:53 PM
Hi I'm looking for a quick way to remove folders with only 1 item (the subfolder), but preserving the hierarching

e.g
folder1
  emptyfolder
    emptyfolder
      folderwithcontent1
         folderwithcontent2

Becomes:

folder1
  files from folderwithcontent1
     files from folderwithcontent2

There is TrueCrypt Explorer which is a portable without needing admin rights. It works but needs an update.

Sure, I would. What he neededs. But I don't see any commonality to those failed files.
10  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Mass checksum checker on: February 15, 2010, 10:16:19 PM
I tested with ExactFinder. Unfortunately, doesn't seems stable enough. For some files, it can't calculate the hash, and when verifying, some files causes errors too.
11  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Mass checksum checker on: February 14, 2010, 07:36:36 AM
I think Git is a little unsuitable, it keeps a copy of the whole file in one revision. It's good for distributed code, but not for file verifying.
12  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Mass checksum checker on: February 13, 2010, 11:14:45 PM
This looks cool, testing with 1 TB data now, looking great! I can't believe I paid for ACV, and the author don't reply.
13  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Mass checksum checker on: February 13, 2010, 10:33:40 AM
Thanks, but I'm looking for a mass file verifier to verify TBs of data, not individual. One of nice things of ASCV is it recurses through every folder and builds the checksum file, which I can use to verify later if any file got corrupted.
14  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Mass checksum checker on: February 13, 2010, 02:39:16 AM
Hi

I'm looking for a tool to mass verify checksums, like Advanced Checksum Verifirer www.irnis.net, but this tool don't support unicode files, and the author does not respond to emails anymore. Can you recommend any good ones?

16  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / My wishlist for desktop organizer on: May 09, 2009, 05:54:16 AM
Hi

I have an idea of organizing my desktop, which is cluttered with too many icons. Many people desktop are like that too. So my idea of a perfect tool to organize, is to put them organize into folders on the desktop but when I mouse over them, it will open the folder automatically and show the remaining icons.

It's like having the Start Menu at the corner, only multiple of them in the desktop. Anyone know of such a tool in existance?

Flash Peak is better in productivity, but more buggy and stooped development.

Hi

I want to ask if anyone has recommendation for a freeware folder compare tool. I used to use TestPath, it's great for testing CDR if they are written correctly, and it works great with folders compare too (over 500 GB). Unfortunately it does not support unicode files.

Thanks. Raidcore looks like it needs a hardware adaptor. MirrorFolder looks like the one.
21  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / 3rd party software raid 1 in Winxp on: December 22, 2008, 04:19:19 AM
Hi

I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendation for a 3rd party software to do raid 1 mirroring (non system drive) in winxp? I'm familiar with the other options (winxp mirroring hack, on board raid, hardware raid, add on pci card, raid 5, linux etc) but I'm just looking for a software solution which can reliability do mirror in winxp. Any ideas?

That software is long abandoned. Pity, it works very well except for these few bugs. I found something replacement but the dictionary is not as good yet.

I been looking at an older version, it does look good but a little too complex. I will take a look at the new one when I can find the time
24  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: which hierarchical note program? on: May 01, 2008, 01:31:55 AM
I was previously using Neomem, and looking for a new note taker to switch to. I've evaluated quite a lot mentioned here, but they didn't cut it. I just checked out Maple (I noticed it was mentioned), and it is FANTASTIC.

It has everything Neomem has, in addition, very good features

- Drag and drop images
- Backups to 1 file, meaning external data are stored internally
- Can export to html tree, chm and other formats
- Can export a branch to another file.

Are we able to get a discount on it? My friend and me are planning to buy a license smiley
