1  DonationCoder.com Software / Point Motivator / Problems that I found and suggestions on: July 20, 2012, 04:47:28 AM
1 When I right click and press ' modify entry' nothing happens
2 Whenever I try to change the list in the setting the program gets a weird bug where everything breakes and I have to restart the programme

Suggestions:
It would be really cool if you guys figured out how to synchronize it with remember the milk (has an api) or dropbox. That would make this one killer app

Attached:
The error I get EVERY TIME, I try to modify the settings or do anything else with it.

Oh and I found that this app works really well with instant boss:
Basically I give myself 40 points whenever I finish an instant boss and then 300  if I finish my daily quota

Simple and effective.
2  DonationCoder.com Software / FARR Plugins and Aliases / Re: FARR plugin: FARR Remember The Milk 1.1.2 on: February 19, 2011, 07:17:25 AM
Well yeah, I worked with it for  long time, actually it was the reason why I use remember the milk rather than toodledo. It just kind of stopped working suddenly once.

I did use it really often though.

Musubi, would you mind checking if the problem is related to one of your tasks by creating a temporary RTM account and connecting to it with FarrMilk?

I'm going add some logging (or activate it, if it already has some, can't remember) for trying to find what the problem is at your end.

Well here's what I did now:

I  uninstalled farr and deleted all the settings program folder, app data folder etc.
Then I installed it and used your installation exe.
And then I write rtm in far and it crashes - it doesn't even get to the point in which I link it to any account.

Not happy to hear that Sad. But thanks for checking it out anyway. Ok, I'll give you a shout when I have a FarrMilk version which tells us how far it's getting until it crashes, if that's ok.
Well I'm still grateful you  tried to help, and I must say that your plugin is the best desktop app for remember the milk. I used it daily, when I could that is.

Well actually it's like that for many many months this is just the first time I you know decided to complain about it. I mean I deleted all the other plugins from FARR and that bug is still there. I checked the error log and posted it here hoping to get a hint why it's not working.

Here's what exactly is going on:

I type "rtm" in farr
I get the error box:
Find+ Run Robot Encountered an exception error (EAaccessViolation).

EAccessViolation

Access violation at adress 687E81F3. Read of adress 687E81F3

And then I get "find and run robot stopped working"

I'm using windows 7
6  DonationCoder.com Software / FARR Plugins and Aliases / Re: FARR plugin: FARR Remember The Milk 1.1.2 on: February 12, 2011, 05:19:40 AM
Well each time I write "rtm" the whole find and run robot program crashes, I really do not know why, and it's like that for a month.
The error log says:
Error initializing plugin do_init function
C:\Program Files\FindAndRunRobot\Plugins\farmilk\libcurl.dll

Hmm.. I see can someone recommend (I actually would rather have propriery  one since I tend to trust more things I pay) program that backups  the settings for all programs not just certain selected ones? Or a program that would help me with my backups and reinstallment to windows 7 64 bit?

I mean I know windows easy transfer will help me to backup my configuration files and  document folders, but is there a program that can backup whole installed applications for migrating to  a 64 system? It can be shareware/pay to use. I don't mind paying for quality:)

10  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Use your brain...to control games! on: April 03, 2010, 09:21:15 AM
Ummm from what I've read this really is not that useful. There's really to much interference from the subconscious mind to control a video game effectivelly by micro-muscle movements.
I would compare it to dragon naturally speaking- theoretically awesome idea. I mean you do speak faster than you write, but in practice it is still better to use the keyboard, because the recognition software needs training, and it really isn't that accurate. (At least my version wasn't, it never transcribed what it should).

But if you don't have arms or legs (to use a keyboard for the feet) I guess this is the best way for you to play left 4 dead 2 or GTA 4.
11  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Should I swtich from w7 32 bit to w7 64 bit? on: April 03, 2010, 08:50:30 AM
Yeah but is there a program that would make the reinstallment easier? Because it would be a pain to reinstall everything.
12  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Should I swtich from w7 32 bit to w7 64 bit? on: April 03, 2010, 08:08:59 AM
The reasons  I considered a change is adobe cs5 which will be 64 bit only. If I would upgrade I would upgrade only to 8GB of ram (i've got 4GB right now)

13  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Should I swtich from w7 32 bit to w7 64 bit? on: April 03, 2010, 06:43:56 AM
I've got a 64 bit enabled cpu. I only installed 32 bit because I was afraid some software might not work, so I  have a few questions I would like to asks you

Is 32bit software compatible with a 64 bit operating system?
Is it worth upgrading to 64 bit?
Will find and run robot run on 64 bit windows 7?
Is there a  way I can keep my old program configuration and programs installed after the update? I mean I don't want to reinstall everything I have... Is there a backup program, or auto reinstaller or something like that, that would be nice.

I know 64 bit can use more ram. What's the biggest amount of RAM a single stick has, can you recommend me a RAM stick?
14  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Is there a software to change the default soundcard for different programs? on: March 30, 2010, 04:33:43 AM
Windows 7 has a good sound manager, I wanted something that's program specific.

If I gonna buy an android phone only the htc desire/ google nexus one (basically the same thing)(htc desire is basically a google nexus one european version). I mean it can record 720p...
16  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Which is better windows mobile or android os or iphone os? on: March 28, 2010, 05:03:59 PM
I listened, and for anyone else who may be listening here's what I reply in defense of the iphone:

The fact that the iphone is the only one of it's kind is an asset. It's like a console. Think about it, why  can a console, which theoretically has lower parameters than a computer, run games smoother, and sometimes with better graphics? Because it's os is optimized for the machine, so it uses  100% of it. I remember when I used firefox,  it took almost 1gb of ram!. Now I use pale moon (an optimized for windows mod) and it takes about half of that, or even less (200mb ram).

Jailbreaking is easy, and since the iphone is popular there always will be hacks for it. If you have the right os, jailbreaking takes about 5 minutes, and that's it. You don't have to do it anymore. (Well the iphone 3gs currently has a jailbreaking defense which resets the jailbreak after a reboot or something like that, but I've read they're working on that. )
(But all the previous iphones can receive a permanent jailbreak if their os is pre 3.12 )

Because the iphone is more popular, there will always be more more apps for it, because it's pop.

It's like the ps2 of the phone world, the xbox might have better graphics, but it wasn't so popular back then. It had a brand just like the iphone has now. (Well, the other thing is that now the ps3 is at the end of the food chain, but that's because they've changed their philosophy and microsoft actually did a few smart things).

Plus, the iphone, due  to the ipod touch being marketed as a gaming console has great gaming potential, and there most probably will be many emulators/games for it.
I want a ds emulator on the iphone...

17  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Which is better windows mobile or android os or iphone os? on: March 27, 2010, 05:01:52 PM
Well if you jailbreak you can multitask and use another app store the cydia store - more apps for the iphone. Right now the iphone seems to be the best choice, really.
And from what've seen jailbreaking is banal. And another plus - I installed itunes without quicktime and other junk. Plus there are some alternatives to itunes, I'd like to tesxt out,  like the "videosoft ipod manager"
http://www.4videosoft.com/ipod-manager.html

And I'm sure there's an itunes alternative somewhere, I'll search for it more when I'll get  the iphone.

Oh and the iphone has the stanza which I can test out with

18  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Is there a software to change the default soundcard for different programs? on: March 22, 2010, 03:37:49 PM
Ok I'm using windows 7, and  I have two soundcards one for headphones and one for speakers. The thing i want to do is to listen to music on foobar and to listen to audiobooks on traut, I couldn't find an option in that program to set the default soundcard so i would like to asks you: Is there a program that can set the default soundcard for different programs? So I could set the default soundcard for trout to be the headphone one?
19  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Which is better windows mobile or android os or iphone os? on: March 21, 2010, 05:30:52 AM
I don't know why but no provider in poland I checked gives out the palm, maybe I'm wrong though, and anki beats all other incremental learning/ flash card programs hands down, because it automatically synchronizes between programs. It's like evernote, just for flash cards. I have more than 6000 cards on my anki, and I  want them synchronized. I used supermemo 2006 before and anki is just better.

The fact that I'm more android inclined personality wise is true, but you have to consider that as of now the iphone is more popular, and right now it's  1 iphone gets an app 2 then android gets an app 3 then everyone else might or might not get an app.

Oh you might know. In which language/ how do you write an android app? I know you use the iphone sdk and html/css cocoa for iphone, what do you have to use for android?
Is it easy for a novice to make an app?

And about iphone being a closed system. I actually like the analogy that the iphone is like a gaming console and the android is a computer. The os in the iphone is optimized for the device, while android is made to work on many different devices. It might not seem like much but I have compared firefox and the windows optimized Pale moon firefox mod, and Pale moon is noticeably better because it's optimized for windows.  It's realistic to assume that the iphone os might be a little bit better because it is optimized for one device. Of course this is only a hypothesis on my part, I might be wrong. I'm in no  way an expert.

Oh and there's  one more thing the iphone has no other device will ever have- the number of 3rd party accesories. Because the  iphone is one device and the different models aren't all that different hardware wise the iphone has a massive amount of third party accessories like for example this
http://www.youtube.com/wa...UE4Wo&feature=related

4ithumbs - a tactile keyboard.

20  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Which is better windows mobile or android os or iphone os? on: March 20, 2010, 04:17:12 PM
True, but I want choice, I want to be able to customizer my system, and the iphone os will stay smooth, because I just want to add some apps. And If I think it isn't smooth no more, I can just restore it in itunes.
21  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Which is better windows mobile or android os or iphone os? on: March 20, 2010, 04:07:11 PM
I don't want to unlock it, I want to jailbreak it. Two different things. I want to be able to connect a bluetooth keyboard to my phone amongs other things.  And I want multitasking, and I want some other free cydia apps. (Among other things i want the home screen to look like the one in a htc device, you know so it will be more functional and there's tons of stuff that a jailbroken iphone can do that a normal can't)

True the massive number of apps came latter, but it came for a reason. I heard it's fairly easy (I might be wrong) to write an iphone app. Most apps are based on html javascript and css, and now all windows phone 7 apps will have to be based on .net and silverlight, which are harder to do for a total novice.

22  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Which is better windows mobile or android os or iphone os? on: March 20, 2010, 03:48:41 PM
So they think limiting features is what made  the iphone popular. Not the smooth OS, or the massive amount of apps? Sometimes I think MS huff's something.
And with the windows phone 7 MS actually decreassed the limited amount of apps they have, or will have, because they make it hard for amateur programs to code for wm 7.
23  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Which is better windows mobile or android os or iphone os? on: March 20, 2010, 01:58:55 PM
Hmmm I see, so then the iphone would be paradoxically the most 'open" system because of the most developed jailbreaking community, and it's more popular = more crackers and hackers are  will try to hack and crack it.

True, true I might take that into consideration, I don't wanna break the law or anything,  but let's not digress to a copyright discussion here. Do you guys think that a jailbroken iphone is as "good" as an android device?
As i see it the iphone now has a lot more apps but that might change in the future.
Then again I'll only have the phone for 2 years, after that my contract with the provider will expire and I'll buy a new phone:)

Ah I see in the us, wikipedia doesn't say anything about poland, but since it's such a common practice on  the polish ebay and other such sites to advertise modding of consoles and jailbreaking of iphones, I guess it's legal here.
