1  DonationCoder.com Software / Post New Requests Here / IDEA to avoid double typing on: March 28, 2011, 04:29:42 PM
It easily happens that you double-type, i.e. hit one key and at the same time happen to touch an adjacent key. You hit "x" and also happen to touch the "y" key at its edge, and you will have "xy" on the screen. But since the "y" key will activate its letter just fraction of a second later, the problem may be solved in the following way.

If there is a block of, say, 0.1 seconds whenever a key is hit, so that all other keys will be "dead" fore that 0.1 second, the "y" will not appear. In normal typing you will intentionally hit a second key that you want to hit a little more than 0.1 seconds later, and its letter will appear.

Of course, 0.1 second is just an example. I don't know what the proper value would be. The "dead" time will, therefore, have to be adjustable from 0 to, maybe, 0.5 seconds - or maybe even more - and the user will have to experiment until he finds the value that suits his typing pattern.

The block should obviously not apply to functional keys like CTRL etc., but just to keys which will put a character on the screen.

2  DonationCoder.com Software / Skrommel's Software / Problem with Accents on: February 17, 2010, 09:55:04 AM
A very useful program, BUT:
I have to hit the key for "!" TWICE to get the character !. The first time it is hit, nothing happens. This is annoying.
And I have to hit the END key TWICE to get to the end of the line. The first time it only takes me to the end of the word.
Why is that? What can I do?

Sorry, I mean that I have to press End twice to get to the end of the line...

NEW QUESTION
I have to press "!" twice to get a ! - once gives nothing.
And I have to press TAB + End twice to make the cursor go to the end of the line, pressing once takes it to the end of the word, only.

What can I do?

How do I uninstall your programs?
I cannot find them in "Add or remove programs" ...

Only č and ! don't work for me with this ini. Pressing c once, twice or more only makes c. Pressing ! once makes nothing, several times make the Spanish inverted ! only, and I can no more get !.

But I had to save the ini in Unicode. Otherwise the some entries in the ini would be lost.

It probably depends on your code conversion table setting.

I have XP in English with a number of additional code conversion tables added under "Regional and language options".

Thnaks, it almost works.
I added the following in the ini:

[7]
key=?
1=¿

[8]
key=!
1=!
2=¡

[9]
key=c
1=č

[10]
key=z
1=ž

First I had only

[7]
key=?
1=¿

[8]
key=!
1=¡

But neither works. I only get the inverted ! and not the normal one.
And i don't get the č.

Kind regards
allesok

I found the Danish letters - had expected æ to be under a ... but some wishes still remain.
Happy Easter!

Very helpful!
But I miss some other characters...
Where are the Danish letters?
And the Spanish upside-down ? and ! -?
And other accented letters?
See enclosure (dump from Office).

Maybe a newer version will have this, too?

Regards
JE
