it seems when I removed the "optional file extension restrictions" from the directories I was focusing on the folders begin to pop up in my searches again. Is this a known issue with FARR?
Hi. It's been a while since I used FARR and i'm having trouble getting folders to show up in my search results. Is there a special option I need to mess with or something to fix this?
Just wondering if the "end of the month" update is still on track or has it been pushed back?
I only ask because i've noticed a surge of features and ideas coming out and being added to the "to-do list" over the past couple of weeks. So I figure plans have certainly changed with that in mind.
RocketDock may be a great program but it really is a totally different kind of program than the others and is out of place in this list in my opinion.
Totally agree. Dock programs are more of an alternative to the windows taskbar, rather than the combined alternative to the start menu, command line, and search tools that you get with programs like FARR.
Well Mouser, I wouldn't take this too seriously, as I have read something like a dozen different articles and polls about command launchers like Launchy and FARR. To be honest, I had heard passing references to FARR many times, but never once thought to use it until I was reading an article about launchers on LifeHacker and saw quite a few people in the comments section swearing by FARR. So while I admit you are going to get some biased opinions, you are always going to get some good free publicity from these things as well. And I can't remember one of those articles that didn't have FARR mentioned on the list or in the comments.
Thanks for your help Mouser. The code works perfectly. Also, I originally looked in the "define" alias to see if wordweb was in there. For some reason I only saw the wordweb website addition and totally missed the native wordweb command. When you mentioned it I took a second look and found it at the end there. *feels stupid* Anyway, thanks for the speedy reply. I've tested alot of launchers out there and non of them have been able to reach the levels of customization that FARR does. Keep up the good work.
I use wordweb as my dictionary software. I like it because I can do offline searches on definitions and that makes my life alot easier. Anyway, i'm trying to make a alias that will launch wordweb with a predefined word in the search box, but i'm not sure what arguments to use for this, considering that I don't know anything about arguments to begin with and there is little help within FARR's help files. If anyone could help me with this problem it would be most appreciated.
