2  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / System Volume Information on: December 24, 2013, 10:46:08 AM
There is a folder on my empty thumb drive named 'System Volume Information'. In this folder, there is a file named 'IndexerVolumeGuid'. What are they? I can't delete them. Neither the file nor the folder (with the file). Is it some kind of virus or malware? Do I need to remove them? How can I remove them? I have Norton Internet Security installed with all the latest updates. Thanks for comments and suggestions in advance.

If you don't mind missing the start menu, Windows 8 is way better than Windows 7. You have to get used to desktop full of icons. No one is missing Windows 7.
7  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Best Anti-spyware. on: November 14, 2012, 11:23:22 PM
I have Norton Internet Security. Recently purchase Spyware Doctor. It's hogging my Windows 8 Pro. Just uninstalled it. Now want a good anti-spyware. Commercial ones will do as well. Which one to choose?

Can I configure my Windows XP / Windows Server 2003 and Nokia E52 in such a way that I will get the broadband to work, via bluetooth, on my mobile phone? Any idea, forum members? Please, give detailed instructions. Please, remember, no third party apps allowed. I have read somewhere it's possible, but how?
17  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Sick and tired of this message! on: August 02, 2010, 11:55:10 AM
If you can get and post the specifics, maybe we can help you out.
What specifics? Screenshots of event viewer?

Is this server also being used as your desktop?
Yes. You are absolutely correct.
18  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Sick and tired of this message! on: August 02, 2010, 02:19:42 AM
"At least one service or driver failed during system startup.  Use Event Viewer to examine the event log for details."
What could be the reason behind this message on Windows Server 2003? How can I know which service or driver is causing this? Checked event viewer. There are some services marked red. Starting or stopping them has not solved the problem. What's most surprising is that internet has become very slow. Even Google takes a minute to load on my 512 kbps internet. Any solutions?

24  Other Software / Found Deals and Discounts / Re: Partition Wizard Business Edition - free registration limited time offer on: April 07, 2010, 10:12:53 AM
I installed Partiton Wizard Home Edition. It's such a nice utility. It recovered twenty gb missing space from my hard disk (Disk in Windows Explorer was showing 60 gb). Business Edition is likely to be even better. Thanks for the post.
25  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Giving away a copy of Camtasia Studio 7 on: April 06, 2010, 10:54:23 AM
Dear Mr. Veign,
If you could get hold of a multi-user Camtasia Studio product key, everyone would be happy, especially folks like me who can afford SnagIt but not Camtasia Studio.
