Is it 802.11g or 802.11b?  Are you broadcasting your SSID?  If you use g but someone else is using b, everyone will have to suffer at b speeds.

Also try to change the channel of the broadcast.

It's in the works!  All part of the master plan...

Looks interesting and useful.

One concern I have is what happens if the uberNote servers go away, either through mishap or (no offense) if you guys go out of business.  I looked through the demo but couldn't find any means of exporting or downloading to a local drive.

How would one go about making an offline backup of their notes?

Also, much of what I store as "notes" includes embedded binary data such as bitmaps and document files.  Often times I'll start a document in MS Word and drop external objects in there, including other Word docs or Excel spreadsheets.

How does uberNote handle that?

In terms of your note data, we do run daily offsite backups.  Everything is off a reliable dedicated server host.  But that doesn't cover all our bases.

You are right, there isn't any current way to export your notes but it's a good point.  We will look into that.

Currently attachments and other binary data are note supported, but are on the way.

Thanks for checking it out!

Greetings!

I've been a member on here for a few days and wanted to announce the release of our new app into the wild. Obviously it's called http://www.ubernote.com.

I know it's a crowded market, but we do see a need. We think our application is different although it may not be obvious to the public... yet.   We designed it to be fast like a desktop installed application, with the advantages of the web.  All feedback is welcome!

Hope you guys check it out and it's something you can use for yourselves!

Ugh, passphrase in plaintext in a batch file? Baaad bad. You should use pageant and pubkey auth instead. Btw, MyEnTunnel is okay handy for managing SSH tunnels.

Really think it's that bad on my laptop?  Just use it to connect to my svn server.

Sounds almost as bad as my mom having her real stickynotes on her monitor with passwords.

I've used both Creative Commons and FAMFAM.  They rock.  Reminds me I have to put a page together to give credit back

putty and plink.

I create a batch file with all the credentials:

i.e.:
"plink -batch -ssh -l NAME -pw PASSWORD -L PORT:HOST:PORT HOST"

Then i just click and am connected...  Just leave the window open.

used primo PDF for awhile.  www.primopdf.com

Simple, just use as a printer.  Works well, haven't really used anything else or much of any extended features.

Do people backup their evernote databases?  I setup a ftp on a remote computer and drop it there once a day.
