General Software Discussion / Re: Windows 7 — first impressions
« on: November 30, 2009, 11:01 AM »
However, Norton was working on a UAC white-list app that would allow one to okay a UAC prompt once & then have the system remember that app as being okay & never prompting again. I haven't heard anything about that program lately, though.

Here's one but only works with Windows 2000/2003/XP/Vista but it does NOT support 64bit :down: & I have not tried it as I only got 64bit

Hi!

We're developers from Green Parrots Software - authors of 1st Clock mentioned in this thread!

Of course with Vista and x64 support!

We'd be glad to hear your opinions on both 1st Clock and 1st Clock Classic!

:Thmbsup: Nice looks like a replacement for Atomic Alarm Clock as they will not add support for 64bit.

Trialling it now it would sweeten it with a DC discount ?

No 64 bit support  :down:

What's broken? I haven't faced any issues with FeedDemon.
I am using vista x64 & feed demon at first becomes non responsive & then crashes & I even had troubles with the RC1 as well.

I tried it once to test something but removed it straight away as it messed with feedDemon.

Ok this is crap it seems to brick the 500GB drives which is what I got 3 of.

New firmware released this afternoon works but some are having problems still.
http://forums.seagat...s&thread.id=5536
I am not sure I want to try it yet till there is more feedback as I can't afford to brick 3 drives.

18
Did you apply it successfully?
I haven't had the time until now but looks like it doesn't work so now I got to wait & a new coaster.

19
Firmware update available now. http://www.engadget....sks-affected-by-fir/

20
I think I may have pinned my problem down to v15.23 nforce driver as I started using it when I got the new drives & the problems started happening which is why I was thinking it was the drives.

I had a few bsod's on XP & a lot on vista x64 when using the v15.23 nforce drivers so now I am back to XP with v9.35 nforce drivers.

21
Well I got 3 Barracuda 7200.11 ST3500320AS drives & have had problems ever since using them like random bsod's that are never the same so I think they must be the problem.  >:(

I did a search but couldn't find anything so is there a new firmware out for them as the one's I got have SD15.

Has anyone else experienced this? How did you deal with it?

Yes I have had the same & there is a post on the smf forums about it.

Here is how to add a context menu to a button

Open regedit then find HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
there should be a AVG entry there & it will have a string that looks like this {B089FE88-FB52-11D3-BDF1-0050DA34150D}<this one is for eset nod V3

Create a new button then edit it in advance mode & paste this in there

FileType CONTEXTFORCE CONTEXTMENU={AVG's string}
so it would look like this
FileType CONTEXTFORCE CONTEXTMENU={B089FE88-FB52-11D3-BDF1-0050DA34150D}
