Found Deals and Discounts / Listary Pro 50% Discount
« on: February 21, 2014, 03:34 AM »
http://www.bitsdujou...=on-bitsdujour-today

$19.95 $9.95

We've all done it before - built a folder that's so deeply nested it takes forever to drill down to it. Who knew that you would end up needing to access it so often? Moving the folder is impractical, because so many of your programs depend on that folder location. The best way to instantly improve your productivity, then, is to grab a copy of Listary Pro, available at a discount with today's software promotion!

Listary Pro gives you instant access to folders and files, no matter how deeply nested they are in your hierarchy. With Listary Pro you'll experience instant gains in efficiency and productivity as a single keystroke puts you exactly where you need to be. Not just for favorites, you can also use Listary Pro to quickly access recent folders and files, with instant access to the last opened file. A handy Quick Switch feature lets a file dialog box switch to the folder that you're viewing.

Has a forest of thousands of files, folders, and other entries taken over your hard drive? Thanks to Listary Pro, you'll now be able to find any file or folder, anywhere, as you type. You don't even need to know the complete file name! Just start typing what you can remember, use the space bar for wildcard, and BOOM, Listary Pro gives you exactly what you're searching for.

Bonus features include projects, actions, fuzzy navigation, and so much more!

General Software Discussion / Re: Total Commander 8.50 final released
« on: February 21, 2014, 03:24 AM »
I just love TC.

Will probably purchase another (3rd) license (might give it to a friend), as a "thank you" to Mr. Ghisler - considering the very generous licensing policy.

3
I bought one! Thank you for the heads up on this great app.

4
Tempting offer. But what happens after 1 year? It'll be $20 after that, with a year's worth of passwords (or more), you'll definitely be more inclined to renew rather than move to another option. Given the company's reputation, they'll probably jack it up to $30 without prior notice.  :(

They're a company trying to make money, I understand. But I'll pass as well.

Thanks Josh for the link.

1password's license isnt' a lifetime one. You'll get discounts for new major versions though. Or is there an option to buy a lifetime license? Thanks.

Find And Run Robot / Re: Icons are not shown

thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a try when i get back to the desktop. Does the variable work in yours?

/icon=%Farrdir%icons\someicon.ico doesn't show icons.

Typing out the full path does eg /icon=c:\farr\icons\someicon.ico.

So i just used the %aliasdir% variable instead. Example /icon=%aliasdir%..\..\icons\someicon.ico

FARR Plugins and Aliases / Re: FARR plugin: Akete

Ok i've tried the modified version and it's working just the way i want it too. Launched files are now being shown in the history. Very cool. Thank you!

Thanks for the reply and the modified version. I'll get back here as soon as i try it.

I'm using farr portably, even on my main computer, and together with total commanders internal file associations, this should be the best way of launching files.

I actually launch everything using your plugin, so with things not showing up in the history, i'm pretty much missing a lot.

files launched are not added to the history list? Any way to change the behaviour?

virtuawin's a great desktop manager too.

I myself am saddened with the way evernote is going. I had a look at their forum and it seems even the power users are disappointed. any of you find a good substitute for en? I am now a bit hesitant to add new notes to my current databases.

Living Room / Re: RAPIDSHARE.COM sucks!
« on: April 17, 2008, 02:49 PM »
I don't think you got the right to complain. since you're using their service for FREE. Consider it a TRIAL version.

We don't see posts like "dopus sucks because the trial works only for 60 days" or "total commander sucks since the trial version has a nag screen", do we?

Now, if you're a premium user and the service still "sucks", then I'll be right behind you throwing some tomatoes at them as well. But that's an entirely different story...

General Software Discussion / nDroid - app launcher
« on: January 27, 2008, 11:19 AM »
Here's a tool ive been using for a while right now and pretty much like its simplicity and speed. I found it over at the Autohotkey forum some time ago, former name is 320MPH.

Written in autohotkey.  :)

Basically nDroid is a blazing fast keyboard based application launcher. But not just that, it can open documents, play songs, open browser bookmarks, lookup web references, find torrents, do online searches, find your files .. plus a lot more.

Forget using your mouse to fiddle with Start Menus, Application Docks and Favorites Menus. There is no need to organise your files. Just fire up nDroid and it'll help you open them in a jiffy.

Was about to thank the poster for the nice find on q10, but after reading the replies, you guys just turned this into keyboard tech support. So much for forum organization I guess.

Visual Basic 6? Portable Photoshop? Portable Nero 7? :o

Although a quick search in Google questions the legality of all three ;D

Seeing a portable version of photoshop posted had me googling as well. :D

Yep that'd be nice. But there's not one from adobe.

General Software Discussion / Re: SQLNotes...what is it exactly?
« on: December 16, 2007, 02:15 PM »

It is free to use. Period.

The released product will be available under 2 licences. The Personal licence will be $50 approx. but cannot be used for work. The price of the full licence hasn't been set just yet.

Active beta testers will get a free personal licence.

The current version requires installation. I'm working on a version that can run from a USB drive.

Excellent news. Thanks for the response.

If he did indeed get ill, isnt there anybone else in Gemx who'd at least notify existing users or at least answer the questions people here have emailed to them? Or was this a one man show?

Pierre, what exactly do you mean when you say free while it's in beta? Do beta users get some sort of discount? And do you have a price range in mind?

Ive tried an early beta some time ago but havent had the chance to fully test it. But a big feature i look for in a note taking software is portability. Does it already have, or is this planned?

It's always nice to see an active developer. Hope you continue this attitude in the years to come.

Have any of you found something similar to do-organizer? I like the all in one, linked, integrated approach. Im looking for something that has similar functions with that of the calendar module in do-organizer.

No news from the developers?
