LaunchBar Commander / Hotkey commnads via icons
« on: October 14, 2009, 07:15 AM »
Hello

Is it possiable to have a icon on the bar that will run a hotkey trigger instead of pressing the hotkey.

e.g. I have a notes program (stickies) that when you press Win+S opens a new sticky is it possiable to add this hotkey to the tool bar so you just click a icon and it does the hotkey for you, i would find this very good as have alot of programs that use hotkeys but would much perfer to click a icon that would emulate the pressing of keys.

i have alot of programs that i have hotkeys set too but much perfer to just click a icon for it.

hello

im using this to do a search for a number in csv it find the number required but places a space on the end of the number is it possiable to have no space at the end?

the CSV does not have a space on end of each number

Example

Csv contains

12345678,99999
12444449,99188
etc

But when i do a search for the unique id number 1st number i get the following

12345678 9999

which is ok but after the 9999 is a space so when highlight to copy the number it adds the space on the end, i know i could just use drag select, but its a pain when im using these numbers all day long in draging mouse when its easier just to double click the number then copy to clipboard for pasting.

I can post screen shots to explain better if required

Edit: using fsubscript

Hello

I am looking for a program, and searched the net loads, that i can add custom programs to the right click menu on a title bar, or even little icons across it that allow me to add custom programs.

mainly as some programs i use dont have menu's there just a title bar, would be handy to have a menu there so can load notepad or something else quickly

Hello all.

Just a question mainly, Im guessing most people who use this forum, prob Work in IT, in some way or another, or may know of something helpful.

I work for a University in the UK, at the moment, We use a manual Input Inventory system, which i do, we have around 3000 PC's that have been manually inputted, over the years.

I am currently Looking for some sort of inventory management system, that Traces the network for Devices, and displays the details on a webbased page or a cilent software.

I have looked at the following so far:
Landesk  - Rough cost it would cost £28k
Centennial - Quoted £26k

Now were a poor uni, we could only afford around 6k, Does anyone know of any such product that is good for inventory tracking but is cheap!

Ive looked for open source stuff but cant find much.

What do you use at work?

Hi all, Ive done a search and found info about the download managers, but there so many and cant work out what the best one is for my needs.

can anyone suggest one, that has following features:

*.zip to Zip folder  With no prompting, So on a site you click the zip, it does not come up saying where do want to save this file, it just downloads stright away and puts into a folder called Zips

*.exe Files, has Prompting but allows me to chosse a catagory from list, for what folder i want to save it in, Not browsing my computer for the right folder.

Websites support, so if download from same website, the files will be saved to the website folder no prompting.

Opera Does this sort off, But its not perfect.

I dont care about speed etc, The main things is you click and nothing prompts you and nothing loads up, just does it and adds to folder

Thanks for the advice guys, KVM maybe the best solution.

But i did have a brainwave last night :P

My dads Lightbox head for scanner is removable, So if i get a cheap epson scanner thats got a port on back so can attach optional extras then i can just use the scanner lid on other scanner.

Its mainly there are not many cheap scanners that do a A5 Sized negitive Which is a old glass plate image, most scanners only do 35mm negitives.

My parents sell alot of old negitives, and where details need to be shown, hence the price of the only scanner that will do is over £350.

And it wont be downsized on ebay, as we use my Webhost to show images where buyers can click the image to show a high res image on the host for that item, no images get listed by Ebay.

Looks like its not £350+ anymore, Was when we 1st got it.

Now £270 But still alot..

Epson Perfection 4990 Photo

But dad is interested in Epson Perfection V700 PHOTO which is £350+ Or the pro is £400+  Mad i know.. for a scanner, but only ones that do the sized negitive they need

Basically Im looking into sharing scanner for the following reason

My mum and dad have use ebay to sell stuff, they sit next to each other and have 2 scanners, but 1 scanner is crap (mums) and the other scanner is a good one with lightbox for scanning negitives (connected to dads)

Basically my mum wants to list negitives too, so having dads scanner shared so mum can use for the negitives she wants is ideal, as its next to her anyway.

Scanning to a folder would not be great for them, there into basic computing skills, and do alot on  the scanning tools for the items.
Unplugging the scanner etc is a bit of a pain to do as its all wired away for clean desktops.

Just looking for away around the issue without buying another £350 scanner.

Sorta explains the logic ;)
The logic of sharing a scanner alludes me.
