I have been using Avast for many years now and never had any problem at all.

LaunchBar Commander / Abandonware?
« on: March 10, 2008, 08:29 AM »
Be honest, this project hasn't seen an update for almost 1.5 years... many promises were made, but we haven't seen anything new so far. It looks like the project is dead, so at least a statement about this would be nice and fair. I still love LBC and am using it as my primary launcher, but there's still so much to be done...

Second that, would really be nice to have the standard explorer context menus on file links. And yes, it's technically possible to achieve this ;)

LaunchBar Commander / Small idea: special item for mru items
« on: January 13, 2007, 07:49 PM »
I think this might be a handy idea... a special item that will basically act as a submenu, but will display the most recently used items (of the bar). The number of entries should be configurable. The items shown should also be preserved during sessions. I usually launch the same items all the time, so such a submenu might become very handy, don't you think? I don't think that it's too difficult to implement, so what are you waiting for? :P

LaunchBar Commander / Just started using LBC - first thoughts
« on: January 04, 2007, 04:27 PM »
Before I found this little app, I used to use 3 different launchers... LBC made me get rid of them, since it is pretty much what I always had been looking for. However, it isn't perfect, and there are a few things that make me really :-\ ... First, it needs a lot more customization options, especially when it comes to the (in my eyes terrible) docking behaviour. I really hate the way auto-hide works (or better, doesn't...) - you should take a look at similar programs, they solved auto-hiding a lot better. I am now using the tray icon option, which is OK for some time, but I'd really like to use docking - I'm used to that (there's an empty menu entry at the bottom which opens the LBC menu - should get a name eh?). I'd also like an option to not hide the dock while editing... sometimes this might be helpful (I know that refreshing might take too much CPU, that's why you should make this optional). Oh, and one last thing: I wonder why the "save changes" button doesn't save the entire dock file - I had a bluescreen during creation of my (complex) dock, and I lost everything due to this confusion... the BSOD wasn't caused by LBC, don't worry.
Don't think that I'm heavily critizising your app - just pointing out a few points that need improvement. Otherwise, I LOVE this app. It's just what I always had been looking for. Some improvements and it's top-notch. Keep on the good work!

Oh and btw, I'm using the latest beta (1.60.06 I guess).
