Accessibility Game Contest / Re: Accessibility tips for developers

I was thinking of retro fitting another game of mine to be playable with a switch. Since it has only a small number of moves available at any one time I figure its possible to treat it as just a menu/selection control.

Picture a list of options with a highlight showing the selected one.

To that end I'm thinking, click to advance cursor to the next option and hold to select the current option (say 1 second, anything less is a click).

Is that the best way of controlling a simple menu with one switch?

:)

I suspect I am mentally incapable of naming something without falling into a double entendre or at least innuendo

Really, I've tried, but I can't

I would blame it on being british if it wasn't for the frenchness of the term double entendre :)

This is an old phone game I put together in about a month a couple of years ago. Phones have duff controls so this was designed to be a single button puzzle game. There was some publisher interest but it went cold because they where, you know, publishers. So I stopped working on it when they lost interest.

I'm going to rework it in flash, but thats been on my list for a long time so when I saw this compo come by I thought I would throw this at it as is. It's an unfinished game but whats there is still playable and its been sitting dead for a long time which seems a shame.

http://www.bulbaceous.com has it running online inside a simple phone emulator layer. It is just java after all. It's only 48k of actual game btw.

There are some screen shots attached but its playable online so just go play it :)

You could also try running the thing on a real phone as well, the files you need are

or

Which are midp1 and midp2 versions respectively, java on phones is strange and icky, try both :)
