Well, hmm, ok, i see the PT tool only reduces the process priority not the cpu usage right ?
But does anyone know of a tool that can do this ?

I mean, what i need is this:
I have a notebook for work and when i run some apps the cpu usage often goes up near 100%, then the cpu gets hotter and hotter, the fan gets louder......well this sucks.
Now i can lower my cpu to 800 MHz ( normally 1,73 GHz ), then the app would run as smooth as with 1,73 GHz but the cpu wont get so hot cause of the reduced frequency.

But i dont want to run my notebook always with 800 MHz, cause some other apps ( which maybe well coded or why , i dont know ? ) , which run under 1,73 GHz fine without using too much CPU load and which run too slow under 800 MHz, so i would always have to swith between 800 and 1,73.

Now i thought, i let it run always with 1,73 GHz and for the "bad coded apps" i use a tool which automatically limits the cpu load to max of 70% or so, so that my notebook not get too hot.

Anyone have an idea ???

I mean, did anyone really get a positive reducing effect from this tool ?

Ok, i downloaded latest version and installed it. Then i used this config:
CPU Trigger Low :10
CPU Trigger High : 60
Min Interval : 02

Now i start Firefox Browser, open some tabs which contain embedded videos and flash anims. Ok as i see on the processes tab, the CPU usage goes rapidly up to 70/80 %. Now i would exspect that PT would react and reduces it , but nothing happens. The high usage stays as long as the videos/anims plays and only goes down after they are finished.

Ok, so what is now the efect of PT ???
