I had a similar problem but the recompiled version of plugin is now working.

However, the plugin only shows up in the  Options --> Find and Run Robot Plugins ---> Click to Examine and Configure Plugins ---> Plugin Manager view. It doesn't show up in the DC Updater window.

You can always group desktop icons manually!
Just right click on your desktop, click on "Arrange Icons by" and make sure that "Auto Arrange" is deselected. Now you can move your icons anywhere you want on your desktop. Repeat the process and click on "Align to Grid" to make your groups look a little neater.
