Screenshot Captor / Screen capture VLC full screen - each sequential file becomes the same as last

Ok so on an old WinXP machine, if capturing and saving with a new sequential named file. In other words, I use VLC to play a video and then cue up to the scene I want to capture and press Print screen but ALL the previous captures become the same as the last capture taken. Even if the previous individual file is moved to a different location. The file will change to the current capture.
WHY????
