I use Yahoo widgets and they have 52 different calenders you can display on top of your wallpaper.

Don't know if this is what you want but tried to give it a shot

BTW, I use the weather and clock widgets and I use a freeware program to see the weather in Maine (my daughter lives there) called "Weather Pulse" so
 I can compare the weather between Connecticut and Maine.
