General Software Discussion / Re: Opera 15 Preview
« on: May 29, 2013, 12:15 PM »
I am a long-time user of Opera, now using version 12.15.  To restore all the configuration options, tap the Opera button on the top left , under Open, and tick off "Show Menu Bar".

I tried the new Opera 15 Mail, but I prefer the integration of browsing and reading mail.

This sounds good.  Please count me in.

It looks good.

Do you have a version that will work on the Pandigital Novel?

5
I purchased this, since it looked like a good buy.

Were you able to get an English version of Audio 180% deLuxe?  Mine is in German...

6
I too, paid for a lifetime license, and since I had an earlier version, Rob kindly refunded me half the price.

But the key still hasn't arrived after 8 days.  I wonder if the automated key mailer is working properly.

Hope I get it soon!

I tried Lightning PDF Professional, but it would not install without removing another PDF tool - maybe Expert PDF 6.

When I asked support if Lightning was an upgrade from Expert, they could not tell me.

I asked for a refund and was given another long distance number to call, and they asked for a lengthy response to a "Letter of Destruction for Avanquest Software".

Now I have to wait up to 30 days for a refund.

Just a warning...

I tried Comodo Time Machine, but it seemed to slow down opening and shutting Windows 7, and when I rebooted after an apparent hang, I lost my registry, and had to restore to an earlier date with Acronis True Image Home 2010.

I think I should make better use of Acronis True Image...

I tried PPT Minimizer today, but got the ## error code, and it didn't register.

Maybe someone else has had better luck.

Hi, Tinjaw.  Thanks for all you work in getting this for us.

I paid through DonationCredits/Paypal, but I see that Paypal deducted $1.08 from the $19.95,
leaving you with only $18.87.  I will send the balance as Donationcredits.

I will throw some more money into my DonationCredits and spread it around a little.

David.

You can count me in for one.

I tried a registered Powerdesk Pro 6, and it crashed my XP installation.

No help from support yet...

Does anyone remember DOS PIP?

You couldn't get along without it!

edbro, I would like to be able to use macros in MS Word, but I haven't had much luck in replacing my DOS Wordstar macros, which allow me to search a database and merge based on user defined selections.  Maybe I need to learn VBA...

15
I started off with the CP/M operating system, and used Wordstar, Supercalc, and dBase.  I upgraded to a PC clone, and copied these data files to my PC.  Through the years I upgraded these DOS based programs, and I continue to use them today.  I can't find better Windows programs which allow me to customize them to the same degree.  (But I need to use Microsoft and Lotus products so that I can talk to people who use them.)

Thanks, Mouser.
I am looking forward to learning and using MetaProducts Links Organizer.

Your efforts on our behalf are much appreciated.

Another free tool which works well is: RegScanner v1.40, available from http://www.nirsoft.net

David.

I use PC Magazine's free Registry Detective, and it works well.

Hi, Mouser.  DonationCoder kepps on getting better and better.  Thanks.

I have noticed a reference to Slysoft AnyDVD, but I can't find any discount for it.  Is it available?

A free program which I use is Outposted from Xequte Software,
available as http://www.dijialbum...ownload/outpostd.exe

They describe it as follows:

We all have a list of web sites that are important to us; sites for the software we use, news sites, blogs, etc.  While some of these sites change frequently, others remain static for weeks at a time.  Visiting all of these sites just to see what's new would take ages, so OutPosted does all of the work for you.  Give OutPosted a list of your favorite sites and whenever changes are detected the site is e-mailed to you.  Unlike similar software, OutPosted does not send a link to the site, or a lame "Notification of Change" message, but the actual web page, fully formatted, as an email message!
Usage and distribution is totally free.

It works for me!
