Is there a way to drag-and-drop for text files?
Actually, I guess I need detailed instruction manual <sigh> - so far, all I've been able to figure out is to run it, then use the markup open (switching type to Text) to open an existing text file (oh, the info button and Settings work) - which will suffice...
but I was figuring I'd be able to type text directly in.
It shows up in the context menu, but it doesn't accept the text file
Obviously I'm not catching on... lol
It DOES look like it'll be just the thing for me as a cheat sheet for gaming

I'm thinking it might solve my problem of needing a constant reminder of Keys/Commands while playing a game. Thanks

FloatingWords has been my goto StickyNote thing. but it's definitely more intrusive than you want.
This is a great idea and may solve my problem of needing a constant reminder of Keys and Commands while playing a game. Thanks!

I have an AstraWeb account so I can get unlimited downloads from USENET - that's right, and yes, it's still worth it. ;)

Been hosting a regular drop-in at the local gamestore, we do RPGs as well. What we play is determined by those who show up each night (and what the store has or people bring). I've been learning a lot of new games, many of those reviewed above. I will try to get to addng to them, but in the meantime, it can be followed on Facebook using the tag #Come_Game_With_Bob

simple, straight-forward, easy, ... works

ah! I think this is just what I need for use with my my Portables Flash Stick
I can use this rather than having to go back and forth in my FileManager to run the app I want next off the stick

AAMOF, I just bought something yesterday.
It's a reconditioned Palm Treo 270 that I got for a reduced, reduced, reduced-to-clear price of $20.00CAN.
I'd love to have something better, but I think it's insane to pay more for a dedicated e-book reader than for a computer.
At home I use my laptop - perfect size for comic books and good for all other differently-sized media. It's more clunky than an e-book reader, but no more so than a hardcover.

I always liked this one. It's an animated, playable slot machine:

OMG, I remember that one.
A friend sent me a Christmas tree with blinking lights once (extra cool on a green monitor)

I'll second that - just got an iPAQ 3650

General Software Discussion / Re: Your most used SPECIAL programs
« on: August 15, 2008, 08:23 PM »
It was REAL easy to figure out which were my SPECIAL apps - they're all under the User tabs in StartupCPL (oops, there's another) - Background Boss, BrowserTraySwitch, FileMappBB, NotesHolder, Mmm, AudioSliders, ExtraSubst, and DaemonTools. Plus, I'd also like to mention BC Wipe and TeraCopy.
I may not use them all every day, but I want them there ready to go all the time.

Living Room / Re: What printer?
« on: August 15, 2008, 04:11 PM »
From what I've been observing, these days it comes down to the cost of consumables.
If you're prepared to break a new printer in regularly, you pretty much can't beat buying a clearance bargain printer every time your ink runs out, real PITA, tho. (I used to buy my cars like that, heh)
Other than that, the ones that have impressed me most are the solid ink printers from Xerox, which are probably the future of printers. However, my printing needs are not yet at the point where I have put my money where my mouth is.

Here's another up-n-coming method

Pain Gone - drug free pain relief
http://www.bodyclock...KN35ICFRFBFQod_CHB_w

I've got severe fibromyalgia, so I'm always looking for alternative forms of relief but the cost to even try a lot of these cutting-edgy type things is kinda shocking - PainGone $89.95 Yikes!

I receive a regular crap shipment from my son-in-law. Items received recently:
6 pkgs 4X6 photo paper
12 ipod plastic covers
6 1 gig music flash drives
4 battery powered fans with cloth blades

Jim Moss

Ho boy! Does this ever bring back memories.
One of my 2 Great-Aunt Ruths used to regularly send out packages to whoever hadn't, er, insulted her previous posts, and they were always just the most terrific crap (at least to a young boy, ha) like bank giveaways such as pens and (cheap) plastic comb in a brush sets (must of been a dozen or more). One time my niece got a box of fine china (mostly broken because it hadn't been packed properly at all). One of my favorites was the box full of weasel pelts and tails. Truly perplexing. But cool.

« on: April 26, 2008, 12:05 AM »
"only fight scenes" makes it a Shooter (probably)

RPG stands for Role-Playing Game
If there is no Role to play it is not an RPG
Adventure games are not RPGs either
Action games aren't either
Neither are Strategy or Tactical games
4X - nope

Not to disparage them - I have enjoyed all of these, and many RPGs incorporate elements
I just get tired of the lame use of the appellation for games with only marginal attributes of role-playing
It's like claiming Chess or CCGs (Collectible Card Games) can be Role-Played with any depth

General Software Discussion / Re: Settings backup software?
« on: September 17, 2007, 06:52 AM »
what about Winret?
That's what I have used

Using this program you can backup third-party Drivers, System and Program settings, Shortcuts, Outlook Express folders and restore them all at a later time, also this program improves Windows and IE performance and make your work in it more comfortable.
