Hi, I was just searching for a tool like this.
then I found your program, and it does exactly what I needed.
my voice recognition program is always overheating the CPU.
but since I've installed it, about one hour ago, everything is running smooth.

thanks a lot for this great little tool !  :-*

cheers
René

It is not about the magnifier !
But its moving behavior.

we are very used to move a window by grabbing it on top
and access it, by clicking inside.
the tool could work like this:
if you touch the upper part of the window
it will jump over to the opposite side,
but if you touch it below then you can use the window as usually.

Hi skrommel  :)
Hm, this is too nervous...... I can not watch that 12-14h a day. :-\
Maybe add a follow mouse option.
Default was better centered.
I could not work at all with synthedit http://synthedit.com/
Connecting cables.

Nice work so far !  :-*

Thanks,
René

How's that going to work ??
If anyone's looking, the magnifier window of Fatbits works the way midiworks wants.
Yes!  :D
Auto-relocate Fatbits
This option specifies how the Fatbits window will automatically move in response to mouse movement.

Avoid mouse, return when necessary - the window will move from its home position to avoid the mouse pointer. It will move horizontally or vertically the maximum amount possible while remaining on the same monitor.

Try it !!!

Thats exactliy the behavior I had in mind.
Only with windows.  8)

Yes!  :D
Auto-relocate Fatbits
This option specifies how the Fatbits window will automatically move in response to mouse movement. The settings are:
No relocation - the window will not automatically move.
Avoid mouse, return when possible - the window will move from its home position to avoid the mouse pointer. It will move horizontally or vertically the minimum amount needed to allow inspection of the pixels under the Fatbits window. When the mouse is no longer over its home position, the window will return.
Avoid mouse, return when necessary - the window will move from its home position to avoid the mouse pointer. It will move horizontally or vertically the maximum amount possible while remaining on the same monitor. The window will stay there until it is forced to move back in order to avoid the mouse.
Attach Fatbits to mouse - the window will follow the mouse pointer around the screen.

just thinking about this,
maybe, when the mouse touch the upper part of a window that is in the way,
then the window should jump to the opposite side.
If it touches the lower part, then the window can be used as usually.

midiworks:
maybe this would interest you...
nice find,  but it rather makes me feel drunk looking at this...  :-\, and it takes way too long.
But it goes into the right direction.

I think, if the windows would be moved to the opposite side,
without any graphical gimmicks and then,
when the mouse is leaving the previously occupied space again,
the window should be restored to its original position.

or something like this... 8)

Instant solution - just click on the programs taskbar icon and it will automatically minimize the window. Click again to restore it.

Another way is to ensure that "Desktop" is visible on the Quick Launch bar - this will minimize everything so you can see the desktop.

The user could also drag the window out of the way manually than...
No, all this should function automatically without use interference. ;)

I am having a lot of desktop icons, many times a window is covering just the ones I need to access.
Sometimes, those are floating windows that use transparency, that are in my way.
Many times I wish, that when my mouse touches the border of those windows,
they would just move over to the opposite side.
I know it is quite tricky, to decide the when you want to use a window,
or when you want to move it away...

Maybe a right click option on the window, to tell it, to move on to stay,
could be some kind of solution.

Cheers and thanks

Just a few findings:
when the cursor is on the taskbar, the tool should show up above,
or the user cannot select all functions.

At the moment it is not reacting/clicking all the times like you would expect.
There also seems to be a problem because it is not always on top of all programs.
Like I'm using Dragon NaturallySpeaking to dictate this text,
the Dragon bar is the most top window....

Maybe one botton could open up a pop-up menu with additional functions like:
copy-paste
keyboard shortcuts
etc.

:)
René

PS. I just saw that the taskbar is also transparent now, even after quitting NoButtons.

Hi skrommel  :)

This is really, already not bad !
I also liked very much the shift button, but it should be automatically unshifted after another left click is detected.
(Or after a certain number of seconds)
Otherwise if shift is held all the time the mouse wheel is not working any more.

Sometimes I was unsure which button was in use, a visual help would be good like inverseing the colour of the button.
I have to try more with several programs and see how it is reacting/working then.
Complex programs like Photoshop was such, are a very hard to handle in general with all the available programs.

All in all already a very nice approach !
I really liked the idea that it disappears and reappears, this is very nice thinking. ;)

The best way to figure out what can be changed or be different is to try it,
I mean, try only to do all the things you usually do without touching the keyboard or the mouse buttons.
When ever you reach for the keyboard, then there is a need to adapt the program so it can be done without it.
Things like:  hold this or that key and click the left mouse button are is simply impossible,
but as you will experience those combinations will show up more often than you wish.
Maybe one or two buttons, that can be freely assigned to whatever might help.

Great work so far !

Thanks a lot,
René

http://www.sensoryso...software/dwellclick/
Dwelling is resting the mouse over one area of the screen for a specified time. The dwell click software allows you to perform left-click, right-click and double clicks, and even drag things around the screen.

This is ideal for those who can operate the mouse pointer, but not the buttons. For example, users of a head mouse such as the Smart NAV can use this software to control mouse operated Windows programs.

There are configuration options to:

specify the size of the target for users who cannot hold the pointer in one place.
change the length of time for a dwell to be accepted
turn sounds on or off
move the dwell clicker window around the screen

Dwell clicker is a free download from our Software Information page.
http://www.sensoryso...loads/DwellClick.exe

there are several tools, that let you use your mouse without the need
of actually kicking any buttons.
these tools are mainly meant for people who have little or no ability to perform mouse clicks.

but none of the programs I have tried are working the way they should or could work.
missing things like: Mark a text part for exemple.
(not bad, but still not good or simple enough.)
the programme of the picture I have posted above works quite well,
but it should be a more complet solution, combining several functions.
In the end it should be a multi-tool that can really help people to do things,
they cant do anymore or that are difficult to do.

MouseActivate v1.3 from Skrommel, goes are bit into that direction.
Maybe somebody here is interested in creating such a useful tool
that really works well for handicapped people ?

Thanks and cheers
 :D
