The download page for the program is:

The author is German IT Development Ltd.

Their contact info is:

That's the best info I have.

Post New Requests Here / IDEA: Advent Wreath for Desktop

The Christmas season just past I would like to offer a challenge to update the "Advent Wreath" for desktop program.

I do not have experience programming and it has been difficult trying to find someone willing and skilled enough to take up this challenge.

There is an advent wreath that is no longer being actively developed.  It's the only advent wreath for desktop I've found.  While it still runs on windows 7, it could use an update.

"Advent" can be downloaded here:
http://desktop-fun.net

The candles begin lighting up on the first Sunday in advent automatically, then each Sunday another candle is automatically lit.  On December 27 all candles become unlit.

There are no user configurable options for color of candles (violet, pink, white) and no option to add a fifth (center) candle and no setting to continue the lighted candles beyond December 27.  But the program is well done and very useful.  It remains a popular download and could use further development.

Would someone consider taking up the challenge of developing an "Advent Wreath" with candle color options (candles 1,2,3 as violet and candle 4 as pink and adding a fifth (center) candle as white?  The size of the candles and greenery is perfect, I think.  It would make a fine addition to Donationcoder.  Perhaps it could be 2012 NANY challenge?

I would be willing to make a contribution to get the project going.

Thanks

DimSaver v2.1 goes into Dim mode properly, but coming out there is problem with the mouse.

Using a Logitech wireless mouse, DimSaver does NOT recognize MOUSE MOVEMENTS and will not return the screen to normal brightness.

DimSaver DOES recognize the Logitech wireless MOUSE KEYS and wired keyboard keys when pressed, allowing the brightness to return to normal.

I would like to request an update/fix for DimSaver v2.1 to properly recognize mouse movements on a Logitech wireless mouse, please?

Otherwise, DimSaver is a great program!

Thanks

FYI: Any of the windows built-in screen savers WILL properly recognize the Logitech wireless MOUSE MOVEMENT and return the screen to normal.

Also, I'm using Windows 7 64-Bit.  DimSaver is placed in this directory:
C:\Windows\SysWOW64

Logitech SetPoint software is NOT installed

Its a MAGNIFIER of the entire screen/program.

I'm looking for a ZOOMING of the READING PANE, similar to Firefox functioning and Thunderbird (once config editor change is made)

Windows Live Mail 2011 does NOT have any way to zoom the text of the reading pane.  There is an option to make text "larger", but no way to actually zoom the text and images for better reading, such as with Thunderbird.

I've found no script or other work-around to allow Windows Live Mail 2011 to zoom the text and images of the reading pane when opened.

Basically, I'm looking for a simple script or code or hack that will allow zooming when the Control key is pressed + Scroll Mouse Wheel, to Zoom in or Zoom out.

I'm willing to make a generous contribution for anyone willing to take up the task.

Thanks,

FYI: Thunderbird zoom text of reading pane can be enabled by going to config editor, then enter  mousewheel.withcontrolkey.action  and change to value 3.  It's that simple.

(There is a "ZoomText" program that functions as a magnifier.  I don't need a magnifier.  I could really use a zooming of the reading pane.)

I'll make a donation to anyone who updates DimSaver v2.1 to run on Windows 7 64-Bit.

DimSaver v2.1 works fine on Windows XP 32-Bit.  But, when used on Windows 7 64-Bit there is an error message: “exe corrupted”.

The .scr file was placed in:
C:\Windows\System32

Does anyone know of a work-around for DimSaver with Windows 7 64-Bit?
Are there any plans to make DimSaver compatible with Windows 7 64-Bit?

Thanks
