Dear Jesse,

Thank you for the suggestion! It was something that I was looking for!

However I haven't the faintest idea as to how to add the 'keyword/alias thingy' to the right-click menu... (not computer savy.. apologies..)

2 suggestions come to mind...

1) Could you help show me how to add this into the right-click menu?

2) Could you by any chance add this into FARR - but not as a default function. i.e Users will have to enable this function by perhaps checking a box in the settings of FARR. (Basically users are given the choice as to how to configure FARR..  :)

Please let me know what you think.

Best Regards,
Mark.

Yes I understand the one in-built in FARR... Use that quite a bit as well..

My suggestion is if for example there's an icon/file/folder...
ok let's say a Mozilla Firefox icon on your desktop... and you want to make an alias/keyword for it.

By using the right-click of your mouse, you can have an option in the right-click menu which adds a "New keyword alias/Group".

This could be done in the desktop or any folder in the operating system....  :D

What say you Jesse?

Hi Jesse,

Just curious, is FARR coded to be 2560x1440 compatible? I've noticed that quite a few programs which used to open normally(size wise) are extremely small...

Could that by any chance be the problem? 2560x1440 is the recommended resolution - even if you change it manually.. it would automatically go back to that resolution...

By any chance would you consider adding an "add alias/keyword" into the right-click menu(at least for the installed version of FARR)?
It would be a whole lot easier to add keywords this way...

Best Regards,
Mark.

 >:(  :(

You're right........ sigh........ new com and FARR doesn't work right....... probably not FARR's fault....(tried the portable version as well..)

let me know if you want to check my com remotely... via team viewer or something and solve this bug.... hahahah....

Thanks Jesse, have a good day..

Mark.

Haha - guess what - I tried to install it on my desktop - also quite new (win 8.1)

and it works!.... Guess there's something wrong with my pc... - any suggestions to help?

Is it possible to keep the aliases which i've created thus far and re-install it?

By the way... Thanks for the quick reply! :)

Best Regards,
Mark.

Find And Run Robot / Drag and Drop of folders/icons not working
« on: April 07, 2014, 10:27 PM »
Hi Mouser, Recently got a new laptop - downloaded the latest FARR.. duh...

Was trying to make new aliases/keywords by dragging and dropping folders and icons into the FARR searchbox but was unable to.

Is the Drag and drop function still in FARR or is there something that i have to enable..

Please help..

Best Regards,
Mark.

Hi Mouser,
the program works great when we type fprocs... but.. when we try to change the alias (alias(overide)) under the plugin section, it doesn't seem to work.

Could you also add a little tweak - perhaps add a configurable hotkey, which when used... shows the running programs immediately. (ie. without typing anything at all.)
Eg. when you hit Alt+Space all the programs that are running could immediately be listed and all we have to do is type the desired program and hit enter to bring it up.

And another hotkey could be used to bring up FARR the launcher...
I guess this is more of a program switcher than a 'program lister'.

Hi guys... been looking for Expose like clones for windows for ages. (Using Win 7x64) The best one that i've found and am still using is called WinExpose.
It works great and i launch it with my startups with Startup Delayer.
The only flaw is that the shortcut key function doesn't work. Other than that you can program it launch the expose-like function at the 4 corners of your screen.
Enjoy.

FARR Plugins and Aliases / Re: New C# FARR Plugin: FARRAltTab
« on: February 08, 2011, 05:16 PM »
Hello is there anybody here?  ;D

The semicolon could be used to toggle FARR.
But holding it down could activate the AltTab function.
While holding it down we could start typing and upon release the desired window should launch.
Perhaps tapping semicolon twice, or ';'+'Spacebar' could enter the ';'.
This would be combining the best of Enso and Keybreeze - in terms of speed and fluidity.

FARR Plugins and Aliases / Re: Farr Alias: Window Management
« on: February 08, 2011, 08:04 AM »
Hi jgpaiva,
You've got a terrific plugin.
When I was using KeyBreeze, it had a configurable function where we could minimize, maximize, move the window to the top left, top right, bottom left and bottom right as well.
Of course putting more functions like volume control, and other functions offered like in WinSplit Revolution
One of the most important functions it had was to close the top most program with a configurable hot key.
have you considered adding these functions to your plugin?
Think it'd make FARR really super if it had these functions as well.
It's like an All-In-One!!

Just curious could the modifier be changed - to ';' the semicolon? Essentially, we could hold down the semicolon and start typing. (The semicolon is used because it's in the natural typing position)
As soon as FARR picks up what we want, letting go of the semicolon would automatically launch the desired window.

Hi Phitsc,

Just wondering... nowadays as ppl have more than 1 computer.. it's be great if FARR Remember the Milk could be synchronized with 2 or more PCs. Just a suggestion - perhaps with Dropbox or something with excellent syncing capabilities already. Is it possible to do something like that?

Regards
Mark

This thought just occurred to me just after posting... if we like have 5 browsers open at the same time           (for example) FARR could just launch the desired website into the browser that's in use at that point in time. Like the top-most window/the window where the cursor is in.

17
Just curious, but wouldn't it be easier if the default method be for FARR to just launch the website in the browser that's opened at that point in time? If no browser's opened then let FARR open it in the default browser. That seems like the simplest solution. If we want to launch the website in a particular browser, then we can use the alias thingy mentioned by mouser. Is this by any chance possible?
