Wow, that was quick  Works perfectly, thank you :)

When I click on "Help" > "Check for updates" the DCUpdater starts but fails with "ERROR: Config File '-dontofferdcupdaterpage' could not be loaded by TinyXml lib - Failed to open file"
Starting the DCUpdater directly found all updateable packages and updates ScreenshotCaptor correctly. I remember this also worked directly vom SCC, what did I break?

Congrats! Well deserved!

SO.. my question is, should i make the new option for control+C (always copy full image) the DEFAULT?  I know a few people have posted before about being confused at Ctrl+C behavior, so this might be the least confusing option.
I'd vote for default!
I could never be sure about what would be copied to the clipboard and so I hit 'save' and 'unselect' a couple of times and then used the menu for the copy command. Thanks for this option

Screenshot Captor / Re: imm.io no longer available

Thanks; I liked imm.io for beeing simple and fast, hope others can provide good alternatives.
Btw.: forget about TinyPic, I just read that they have some weird setup to recycle their file numbering so you'll loose access to uploaded images after a while.

Has anyone figured out how to use similar sites like TinyPic.com with the SC Uploader tool?

This circle-endpoint thing is really useful, thanks!

One thing that often confuses me:
If you choose the style of the start-/endpoint *before" you actually draw the line, at the first line the endpoint is unaffected from the setting.
It's not a big problem because with some extra clicking you can change this but I'm always stepping in that same trap.
This is what I mean:

I just found this older thread and like to throw a +1 in  :)

I often also prefer setting the correct dimensions of a screenshot in the first try and press CTRL-B / CTRL-C to but a border around it and put it in the clipboard afterwards.
For me this works quicker in a lot of situations than capturing roughly and cropping after that.

I guess what would be needed are three things:
- the ability to fine-tune the selection window corners with the arrow- keys once the "Grab selected region"-mode is active
- a shortcut to start the selection process and another one to end the selection process

Screenshot Captor / Re: Direct Google Image Search by uploading?

So, I assume, not?

Just a quick addition: what I wrote of course only makes sense when it would be possible to make the text background transparent. Currently you can just set a better matching background color.

12
No bug, just a suggestion for the text-at-arrow-feature:

right now the box and the text inherit the color that is set for the line.
As for the box that's ok IMO but to make the text readable on all backgrounds it would be good to have an independent setting for the text color.

Thanks, partly fixed.
It doesn't happen anymore at the left, right and top edges but if you take the Win7 Taskbar into the screenshot there's still this selection.

15
No, the selection only seems to depend of the distance to the screen edges. I thought since it's the "area" mode screenshot captor shouldn't consider windows and the active window at all and just grab what's under the cursor?

16
I configured the program to display the main window after doing a "grab selected region".

Most of the times the main window displays just the captured image (which is the expected result) but in certain cases an area is already selected. Seems to be that it happens when I select a region which is not in the center of the screen but nearer to the edges.

Thanks for the new beta. Great stuff, as always.

I played with the GDI+ settings and experienced the following:
When GDI+ is enabled and you draw a highlighting rectangle, the border color is taken into account when calculating the transparency. This happens even when "Border Color" is unchecked. I guess this should not happen in any case?
I made a screencast to clearify what I am talking about: http://screencast.com/t/5ElgqFpcnxD0
This effect does not happen when GDI+ is disabled.

Additionally (regardless of GID+ or nor) the repainting is not completely clean when you first have a border and then uncheck the border option. There still remains a tiny border of that color and a white line at the bottom. You can see this in the screencast above, too, at minute 0:22 and 1:06 to 1.08.

Screenshot Captor / Direct Google Image Search by uploading?
« on: November 12, 2012, 01:32 PM »
Hi,

has anybody managed to set up SSC so that it provides captured images directly to Google's image search by uploading?
Is this even possible? I found Google's search API but didn't get any further how to use it.

Edit: found a bit more here:

Screenshot Captor / Re: Antialiasing options only global?
« on: April 20, 2012, 12:38 AM »
Did you have the time to look into this?
I used to have antialiasing turned on but found that this also makes 1px-small lines look like they had a shadow-effect:

Woot, that was quick
Just downloaded 3.00.01 to the XP machine and tried to force the error but it seems gone. I will test the rest of the day and later also on my Win7x64 machine. Thanks for fixing!

21
Thanks for the great update

Unfortunately, I still get this error when using "Delete all image files in screenshot directory" I reported earlier (link)
Access violation at address 004ECFC8 in module 'ScreenshotCaptor.exe'. Read of address 00000004.
This happens under WinXP 32bit and also under Win7x64.

22
Thanks for the update.

btw: I found two small things regarding the drawing of highlighting objects that don't work properly:
1) Draw a circle. Now switch the button to rectangle mode and draw again. It still draws a circle. Only at the second attempt it draws a rectangle.

2) If the Border Color is switched off (which means: don't draw a border), there's still a tiny border.
To check wether it is really the border and not some other effect I switched the border color and indeed, the tiny line changes it's color.

To show what I mean I have created a small video; first 30sec show Nr1) and the rest Nr2)

but the speed of the calendar windows opening (viewed by itself) doesn't really strike me as that odd.
That's why I thought it was a feature that was configurable  ;)
Don't spend too much time on it, it's not really a problem but just a thing I noticed.

It is possible that something else is also hooking into the shell at the same point, but I would think that more of the clock would be lagging then ... Or is it?
No, nothing else lagging on my system. If another app hooked into the shell that would surely affect the native windows clock also, which brings me to

If T-Clock is closed, does the default Win7 calendar pop up quickly?
Here's a comparison video of T-Clock vs. Windows clock. Since I couldn't visualize the moment of the mouse click I tried to show that with moving of the mouse cursor hectically :)

Delay? There's not supposed to be one...  ...Which calendar config are you using (1, 3, or 12 month), all should be fairly instant. Let me know how you're configured (and on what OS etc.) and I'll see if I can reproduce the behavior.

Id doesn't matter what config, it's present with all of them (and the delay was already there in build 90). I am running Win7x64 and my machine is a quite fast one (Core i7-860).

I checked with Sysinternals ProcessMonitor for errors but the only item was a
"HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\CTF\KnownClasses"  --> "Name not found"
which doesn't sound like a real problem.
