just remembered too ...
Flickr free was restricted to 3 Sets maximum for a long time. I've just found out this restriction has now been removed. This is a BIG PLUS

3
Flickr free version - only 200 photos visible
Picasa - file names available with click on more information

4
Keyword Highlights
automatically highlights words particularly in Digests such as Subject, Sale, etc. thus avoiding having to search

Post New Requests Here / IDEA: alarm when net connection *restored*
« on: October 04, 2009, 11:27 AM »
there's loads of software to detect loss of connection
but what about when your connection is down?
Answer: Something basic - a sound alarm when connection is restored like a ping to a url e.g. your service provider
(ok, a modem/router/pc may need booting - but sometimes not).

something that made me revert to v1 was the thought of having to re-adjust scores again.
Is there any way round this?
... like updating to the original install folder?
or a hack of some sort?
can't see this discussed before ...

"searching" and stretching for F10 is just as bad as for alt+tab
how about moving the mouse to edge of screen?

Find And Run Robot / Re: FARR Lite request!
« on: June 17, 2008, 03:48 AM »
sorry Mouser, thank you for pointing out my glaring blindness - I completely overlooked that obvious (now) option - v1 and v2 are now on a par when compared on a level playing surface.
I'm certainly going to give it greater consideration now ...

hastily recovering v2 from recycle bin and 5 mins removal of any unecessary options and only searching start menu i'm down to 13740 ...
... configured properly? - howzabout sharing that Mouser ini file

Find And Run Robot / FARR Lite request!
« on: June 16, 2008, 05:44 PM »
As a long term user of v1 i've just tried v2 for the first time and memory use is 16348k (no plugins)
v1 is sitting at 896k
For a non keyboard maniac a simple bloat-free launcher is all i need - so back to v1 - it's perfection for me !
So save the download link for v1 (renamed lite?)

TapTap / most useful of all would surely be Alt+Esc
« on: March 01, 2008, 10:14 PM »
pity Escape is not possible - would provide probably the easiest possible way yet of switching windows !   :(

for Firefox the CS Lite extension I highly recommended
If you visit a lot of pages and (considering the volume of cookies - sometimes about 10 per site) thats a lot of data
I block all and allow the ones YOU need (should become obvious)

99% of the time i have links, searches, etc auto-open in a new tab, I find it really annoying that i have to repeatedly manually close the Untitled tab to save on screen space.
I use Tab Browser Preferences and ideally it should detect a spare tab and use it.

What is necessary is when a new tab is added then a check for existence of an untitled tab would delete it

Not seeing any solution with a sendkeys type script, I'm toying with the idea of writing an addon myself but it's time ...

Living Room / Re: Change title bar name (in any application)
« on: September 11, 2007, 08:54 AM »
i'm looking for permanent change - i'd like to stick version numbers on all software - in all that wasted real estate - tried using ResourceHacker on Media Player Classic using String Table and it worked ok. But Metapad did not work in the same way - i realised here that the the title bar changes depending on what you are doing and suddenly it's complicated ...

anything to learn from this?

p3do Explorer [www.senosoft.com] uses Pattern Renamer plugin to rename *thumbnails*. If you are renaming images this is very convenient and covers most requirements very simply. Discovering this was a mammoth event.
