When Google Reader shut its doors I was bereft. Before long I stumbled onto Inoreader and have never looked back.
It's fully functional and free. It has a premium version that offers additional functions. It can save a specific page URL to your stash of items (useful as a bookmarking tool in that respect). It also has a mobile app and browser extension options.
