req: ability to set all apps by default to low/idle with the exception of process tamer being normal...

2
it keeps reources LOW and since all would equal being low priority = Faster Computer - Works great with PTamer - except I am getting tired of doing it manually...

3
A program to set all apps, etc.. Automatically on Low Priority - like Process Tamer but would make the Program itself of Normal Priority and the Task Manager of Normal Priority - or both of those could be user configerable if possible... or an option to either AutoSet the priority low or manually per application not determined on CPU usage...as this program wouldn't be based on the CPU usage at all...either that or process tamer can be implemented with this...:) or both... 'cause I'd like to have all apps AutoSet to low priority except for a few - I am getting tired of manually messing with ProcessTamer to do it manually... I hope u guys get what I mean.. :P

hi, um... those IPs are suspicious: (i just got ur eletter a few mins ago):

First of all if ur using linux/etc.. best thing is to disable the timeout in sudo privs. in Ubuntu it's 15m To do so in ur sudoers insert the following (note also logfile for passwords and last time accessed is sent to secure.log which should secure u even more):

Defaults !lecture,tty_tickets,!fqdn
Defaults:ALL  !syslog
Defaults:ALL logfile=/var/log/secure.log
Defaults:ALL timestamp_timeout=0

Also are u using useragent blocking in ur .httpaccess files? U could also get and put up an ipblocker that are primeraly used by p2p users to block media ips, etc.. This should also keep ur site secure. not to mention keep gov., mil, and even RIAA and MIAA, out of this site, etc..? :)

if i rem. correctly ipblocker is for linux. I just forgot the exact one for windows. Atho I had trouble with it with arno-iptables-firewall.

:) oh well..

Also u should have the latest linux kernel updates. There were an exploit that could easily gain root access and that is fixed.

I have the test code on my website if anyone wants to use it for testing. :) just cd to ur desktop or wherever u saved it, sh exploit.sh or whatever and if u get root then ur affected..

I got it on my site for if others want to test their kernel.

Also many security sites have the test exploit code too..

http://www.botnetgod...ale.dnsdojo.org:8000

is my shared files site (dir). without the 8000 port is my wiki, which I gotta set-up and fine a use for. :) as it's public..

by the way:

24.39.219.73: This seems suspicious because HoldCO I think is from RR internal. RIAA? MIAA? Some employee from RR, I read on forums of blocking RR IPS with HoldCO in them, of course those were p2p forums. One Forum said that it looks to be an internal IP..

My conclusion, u were hacked either by the RIAA, MIAA, or someone in media company affiliated with these companies as these IPs point to what many p2p users see pointing to the end result the RIAA, MIAA, etc..

It could of been also the MIL, GOV. Helping out the RIAA and MIAA. My suggestion get the ips of thes orginazations and block them from ever connecting to this website with ipblocker or some other p2p blocking program and have them updated once per week (they ged upset if u do it more :( )...

Again i wouldn't be suprised if u received a court order to take down this site in the near frute to to copyright issues or them claiming it.

5
some suggestions: make the shutdown  time adjustable and make an ignore option, because i have some programs that when the X is closed it auto desends to the tray as an icon, and when the seconds are up it just  re-pops up now because gonein60 just cached it..very frustrating.. :( Examples are Utorrent, Frostwire, & Peerguardian2...

6
it gets frustrating to have to come here to the forums just to sign into the site, :( can you guys please add a sign in on the homepage?

7
oh by the way mouser maybe another programmer can do it if u let em'

well GAIM I used to have and the portable version I had no problems with, also thanks for the modify I didn't see it... i use miniaim www.miniaim.net and asking if they can post it on here..its free and takes up less than a hundred kilobytes :) and no install  also windows 98 has no problems with me since the applications I use are newer than when windows 98 came out they 90 percent of the time give it all back... 8)

9

Living Room / Re: Skype users: beware
« on: May 20, 2006, 05:10 AM »
oh let me clarify the CODE TO SKYPE is SKYPES property, but once its on ur computer the SOFTWARE that u donloaded/bought is urs to do whatever u want....even disassemble it if u like now if someone claims they built the code and is wrong (hey other people have been ripped off by others due to many saying they build something and the person who did patent it patented it with lies claiming they did it when they didn't as this has happened before and is still with many corporations engaging in lawsuit after lawsuit is actually themselvs THIEVES) so I cannot verify if the Originator of skype built it themselves or just patented it first..considering their ACUTAL code they build it with was actually a used one and is patented so TECHNICALLY they don't own it either so that means TECHNALLY every software built from C++ C, etc... is not their own work...U have to DEEP THINK and DEEPLY UNDERSTAND to get this.. :)

Living Room / Re: Skype users: beware
« on: May 20, 2006, 05:04 AM »
skype is not their property, and if u agree with that the person who said that skype's software is their property, then ur house is not ur propety or apartment, ur tv is not ur property, ur carpet, car, cat, dog, bathroom, towels, etc.. and most importantly the CLOTHES on ur back and SHoes on ur feet is not ur property that means the people who built these can LEGALLY come right up and Take ur shoes of ur feet, take ur house/apartment, tv, carpet bathroom, car, cat, dog, towels, the clothers on ur back, 'cause its BASICALLY NOT URS, U DIDN'T BUILD IT... GET IT...

13
oh by the way I have download a many software that CLAIMED FREEWARE, installed it, nope even some that was labeled TRIAL never did have a trial...I just don't get how lazy a person can be, just go to the site here that the software asks and register for FREE and u get a 6 month code, how hard is that... I did and got mine trust me 6 months is a LOOOONG time to get the pop up again...and donating like i said above is not a fixed amount even a penny would do.... :) and that's some cheap software...

so I give ur site a

14
I agree with many, its your site and u can do what you when you and how u want, if u want to take this whole site down and post a one page "HAHA SUCKERS,I have got all your donation money and going to spend it all on well anything but this DARN site :D" fine....well I do know u wouldn't do that anyway Snowball by the way where is lisa oh wait ur mouser hey AH! I see ur acting name was snowball and were u one or the second one lisa had...so how was the life on THE SIMPSONS (so now when i see u on that show i know ur real name is mouser) XD

seriousely tho, I didn't care for having the wait thingy why should i care, I didn't want to code it, its ur work, your could just charge for visiting the site/forums/software and all like some sites do...no u don't u just ask for a donation of any amount It could even be a penny...plus u send out those neat packs, with magnets, and a donationcoder member card.. :) by the way since I am here i will be requesting u on another forum to recode some things for me for windows 98...etc...so look for any requests there mouser ;)

edit BHO and estension in firefox..but all in one install...

16
Browster works with both firefox and IE, and doesn't install as an estension only a BHO, this little gem lets you see links without opening them first and u can even browse the previewed link by clicking on links, note this search results preview works on any link available, don't take my word for it, as I have a hard time describing it, but here is the website to see for yourself...

I bought my copy of XP bundled OEM with a new harddrive (?!?!) so I guess as long as my harddrive holds out, so does my license? I've transferred my XP twice now (about 3 weeks ago was the last one) and they've always given me a new activation. Over the phone, even.

As far as i know this user agreement already is a bit old, and not if ur hardrive goes out u still can use the OEM's disk on your computer, its just the motherboard. and ur lucky, i could never tranfer a licence on this xp installation oem disk they said the numbers i had didn't exist (really they did)..so I am stuck, however this optiplex gx300 takes the disk without any activation key, noting the disk did come with a newer pc than mine as i was stuck with only 98 and 98SE that came with it and was surprised i didn't have to activate the OEM disk on this ol' pentium 3 733mhz thing..hehehe. ;)

18
Now I tried the updated version of this from the website, but no it didn't detect my drive C:\ :( but this version does  this thing is lightweight, slow especially if you have a huge harddrive as it takes its little ol' time..but hey its free and reallly does the job...

dowload.com's Editor review:
Buzzsaw truly is a do-it-yourself defragmenter for those who require no interface and who like to work in DOS. The program consists of two executables, one that runs in Windows and monitors your system in the background as you work, defragging whenever it detects a change. The other, which runs only from the DOS command-line prompt, does defragging based on parameters selected by the user. In our tests, defragging results were decent but did not noticeably improve system performance. The included help file is basic and may not answer all questions. The most worthwhile part of this program is the component that monitors your system--the user-unfriendliness of the on-demand defragger suggests that you use Windows' built-in utility instead.

.................
Description from Company:

Publisher--Mind Array Technology
Publisher's Website--- Mind Array Technology

Buzzsaw.exe defrags files while you work, keeping your drive undefragmented in the background. Dirms.exe is a command-line defragmenter that will even partially defrag large files when instructed to do so.

Won't use because of DRM = DIgital rights management, Wait until its taken out or given FREE to me.. :) I never payed for xp pro. « on: March 19, 2006, 05:38 PM »
yep i read about the charter membership ending soon, so I decided to donate a buck or two.. :) hey I don't want to get left out..

I use Defrag.exe the cmd line version...it also comes with windefrag.exe a gui like version...http://www.kessels.com/defrag/
I also use the built in defragmentor, and also speedefrag i found off www.download.com that one u just start up, choose drives to defrag, and press start, it auto reboots ur compuer, once u sign on, or autosign on if u have ur computer set to do that, and defrags and then shuts down ur computer.. :)

Each has its little quirks..

General Software Discussion / Process Tamer bug...:( or is it just me?
« on: February 11, 2006, 12:49 AM »
well process tamer is what i used, also processlasso(from another company/person), as u know it my computer mouse jitters when it is going, as for example I can't open anything, it just jitters all over the place,I mean this doesn't happen everytime, but I have to logoff  by ctrl alt del, and then use the keyboard keys, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't but yes I removed product product lasso as I thought that was the cause but i did, and as soon as I did and reopened up process tamer it did it again..:(  so far lately it has gotten so bad.

I do hower put products in realtime as in spyware guard, cookiewall, AVG-Antivirus free edition, FreeRam program, and the likes for incase of realspyware/virus needs as in it can quickly catch and delete it and quicker scanning than all others..

I did however think it was this but last time i didn't do this and it still jittered my computer mouse and even opens up programs automatically such as properties of dll files, and the like.. :( its soo annoying and yes I checked for spyware, adaware, but nothing, and it seems to be only when process tamer is running..
