thank you Ordstrin  i looked at the thread/forum you were referring to and it was a little too complicated for me.

 i wonder if there was anything you could download and install/uninstall?

been searching everywhere for this. anyone knows where i can find one for free that runs and will not interrupt my work or if not... could a good soul please design something like this 

basically, it could be a small window just above the clock that shows the actual wpm when im typing in word, or email, or notepad, or chat, wherever.

why? several reasons, i obsess about these things, my hands hurt when i type too fast (my hands have a mind of their own) and i need to pace myself, and i just want to know all the time.
