LaunchBar Commander / bug launching from a hot key
« on: March 17, 2011, 12:53 PM »
Hey.

i just loaded v1.123.01 on XP Pro and the hotkeys for Office 2007 just opened the folder of the program...not the EXE.

The following stopped working...
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\OUTLOOK.EXE

but the following works.
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\OUTLOOK.EXE"

no reply necessary.   later.

Cool;  you can also use google dns at: http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/
Note: if you use services by your internet provider...like news groups or use local content, can stop working for days when local network changes occur.   in that case, i recommend keeping your secondary dns search ip to something your provider provides.

Lastly, i've stopped using spybot immunization on my slow machine at work.  i find myself removing a lot of programs i once thought would help.

Dude.   Works great.   i loaded the program and all of the icons came back.
Oh and those other two items...they were html web pages so the properties for those shortcuts could be where that '\' came from.
Thanks again.

it's the link above the image that starts with 'homelap....then the date.'
it's an RAR file with the mcf inside.  :)

Oh.  i did create this condition once...it went something like this.

insert node sibling menu.
select an icon.
Opps.  you change your mind and need a Command.
from what you have, change the node type to: command
? is there already a application showing up?  i get a program that i previously loaded.
correct the program, save and close, then check the command from the menu.
mine was blank so i went in and reselected the program and saved changes.
it worked by no icon.

hope that helps else we are all more confused.  :wallbash:

Damn: the board just told me you replied again while i was saving the post.
restarting LBC ( under admin privileges ) didn't help but i do find that one of the icon i played with...will show, just not the icon i was expecting.

mcf file is in the initial post...which i figured you would want to see.
( you see i searched the board looking for a similar problem first.)

it's late...no urgency...

The 'folder' icon will show...just like in the screen print but the icon in the tree won't update.
The same happens for the last few EXE's.

the 'consistancy' checks out...and i tried to "remove all but required pairs" and refill.

i'm thinking i screwed it up by playing with it so much.   :(

LaunchBar Commander / Icons paths differ, Icons won't update.

There seems to be some unusual behavior on my vista 64 laptop.

two different default icon strings are showing depending on where i click on the tree.
( see attach png file )

C:\Windows\system32\SHELL32.dll;3
%SystemRoot%\syswow64\SHELL32.dll;4

If i "select icon from system", it will show up in that pane after selection, but not in the tree even after i press save.  whatever icon was in the tree...will now blank.

i've tried the maintenance functions but that doesn't work.
it's not the number of nodes...127 because i have about 170 at work.
there was some mcf corruption but the same thing happens with the backup.

if i drag a folder to the tree, the icon doesn't show.
i thought this was a permission issue since i originally install the program in C:\_Menus
so i re-installed the program and no joy.

This has happened before on this laptop but not on the xp or win7 machines.

Any ideas on reset my icons?

I tried that but no joy.  screen clips attached. win xp pro sp 3
i have really 'pilled' on a bunch of network folders.

the mixed exe and urls work fine.
the links to the control panel items don't work at all.
for those i used the expanded version that uses the explorer / parm trick.

example: the explorer parm to open 'my computer' in XP Pro is:
C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe /root, /N,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

just a step back here...the reason i'm trying this program is because i have mixed exe, network folders and network shortcuts.   if i use my work laptop at home and open up a tool bar with all of this mess, it trys get the icon from the non existent network folder and this tends to slow my work and piss me off.

LaunchBar Commander / running exe and folders from a folder.
« on: December 23, 2009, 08:08 AM »
i have a folder with shortcuts to exe's and other folders.
the exe works but not the links to the folders.

for example.
i have a shorcut to iexplorer in a folder
in that folder are shortcuts to the ie temp file and favorites.

i 'dropped' this folder on to the menu bar.
ie will start but the link to the shorcut doesn't work.

how would i configure this folder?   thanks.
