Hi, sorry for replying for the first time but this seems to be the thread for the browser.

It's really useful for browsing the autoscreenshotter pics.  I lost some work in an online app, and used this to get a screenshot of it to restore it.  Awesome!

The browser is useful for kind of zooming through your day in fast forward.  However, if I hold down a cursor key to zip through, I want to see something along the lines of a timelapse in the main image window.  Instead, it (for very sensible optimisation reasons) only renders one every so many thumbnails, because the selected thumbnail kind of runs ahead of the big window's ability to render.

My request would be an option along the lines of 'repaint full image every thumbnail navigation'.  Even better would be the ability to hit a little 'play forward' and 'play backwards' button with a speed slider, so you can scan through your day to find where you wrote that email or did whatever.

Hi, sorry to necro the thread, but I've been trying to work out why my onenote text has lost all its formatting when pasted with CHS.  Is this formatting preservation feature considered live now?  Or is it just the portable one still that has this?  I did the normal install and can't see anything about formatting.

Just gave this a try.  What a program!  And the default shortcuts are intuitive, what's more.  Hitting Win+; to put the prog on just the left half of one monitor- the control! 

Now I just play the waiting game for a couple of days to see if that memory leak appears.  If not, I'm a lifelong fan...

Archivarius is great though, and compared to things like DtSearch is cheap as chips for all the files it supports.  I use it for full text indexing, and search by filename with 'everything' which is fantastic and free.

Thanks for the reply mate.  Yes I did, but I can't give up the 'task oriented' style of todolist for the benefit of the time stamping.  It kind of needs to be a 'tray' tool so they both run at the same time and you can mark points in whatever notetaking app is needed.  I think trying to replicate the features of the chosen notetakers of everyone would be a quick path to madness...

Hi Perfectnotes,

I've just tried your software, and I think the concept is great.  It did freeze a couple of times but I'm sure those things are getting ironed out!

I think this tool would get great takeup if it could be used more as a 'companion tool' to the user's chosen application.  For example many people use Evernote for various online features, I use todolist for my notes because they are kept in a 'task-subtask' structure that suits my project management role.

Trying to replicate all the features of those things in the note taking functionality of your tool would be a lot of effort.  Some people even use more than one like I do.  However I (and I'm sure many others) would be happy to pay for something that sits in the tray and lets you record (and add inline links) within the tool of your choice.  They'd need to be inserted as url or file links, which your tool would parse and play back when the user clicks them in their own app.

Anyway, just a thought.  It's an area only one other tools seems to try (onenote, and it isn't great at it!) so if you could make this tool complement people's existing toolsets (with the notetaking as something optional) it'd be an amazing benefit.

General Software Discussion / 'Time stamping' sound recorder

I'm hoping one of the DC guru's might know of a tool like this. 

I use abstractspoon's free 'todolist' for all my tasks, and keep notes in it.  When key things happen in a meeting (like everyone agrees with something) I hit Ctrl-D which puts a date/time stamp in my notes.

In onenote (which I don't use), it keeps your sound file synchronised to your notes so when you click on a spot in the notes, it jumps to what was being said when you were typing that word.  That's very cool, but onenote doesn't appeal much other than that.

I'd like to get something similar happening.  So I'd like to record sounds for meetings but be able to 'jump to a time' (ie 2:34pm, not 12mins into the sound file).  If the tool could create and accept URL style links that could be clicked to play the sound from a point on, that would be a nice to have.

Anyone know of such a thing?
