Circle Dock / Circle Dock in limbo.

So, is anyone taking over this project?  Seems a shame for it's development to stop.

first click the button to post a REPLY,
or type something at the bottom of the page in the "Quick Reply" box and hit "PREVIEW" (not post).

that gets you to the full post page, where you can ATTACH image files.
then just attach your image files using the browse button and then if you want to show the images in your post at specific locations put [attach] in your text to show where to show the image (if you dont they will be shown as thumbnails at bottom).
Ah, thanks.  I was doing that, but preview didn't show the image... I'll try again, thanks...

Circle Dock / Re: next release suggestion: docklet support
« on: October 28, 2008, 01:47 PM »
That clock in the center is a real winner, that's for sure.  As far as dockets, they'd have to be 'snappy' for them to be usable.  I'm using the stack docket in Circle Dock, but it feels like you're launching another application when you use it (which you sort of are...)

Circle Dock / Re: Circle Dock 0.9.2 Alpha 8.2 is Released
« on: October 28, 2008, 01:30 PM »
I've noticed that with this release, it's not as snappy as before.  There's a noticeable delay when opening folders (the icons take a good second or two to appear)  I'm guessing your next release will address this kind of thing?  I'm on a high-end Dell workstation...

Circle Dock / Re: Possible to unhide the description for all icons?
« on: October 21, 2008, 12:31 PM »
I find that I also need descriptions showing sometimes.  An example is when I have a circledock folder filled with online radio station shortcuts.  Having to hover the mouse over 10 icons to find the one I want is a real drag in situations like that.  If you could put in a check box to leave text visible in certain folders, that would be the best... also being able to edit the description is better than it showing a 6" long text/path string...  :(

(by the way, LOVE the elliptical circle dock!)

Circle Dock / Circle Dock Enhancements
« on: September 18, 2008, 07:44 AM »
Thought this might be a good place for enhancement ideas.

I would PAY to have a working CLOCK (minute/hour hands) as the center button!  Perhaps this can be a dock-type addon....  :)

  • This is an executable that operates in read only mode and has all of it's menus disabled. It is meant for use on public computers where you do not want changes made to the dock and you want to lock down the system files.
  • The Kiosk Version requires that you change the dock settings and items using the regular version of Circle Dock and then replace the regular Circle Dock exe file with the Kiosk Version executable.

To close the Kiosk Version of Circle Dock, you have to do it through the Windows Task Manager. The source code has also been uploaded for the Kiosk Version and is the same as the regular version except for the parts commented out to disable operations that can result in changes of the dock. You can safely make the Circle Dock directory read only and the dock will easily work.

Thanks, I can see were this would be useful.  At work, we have several computers for 'general' use, so this will be great.

greetings from australia

is there a help file telling us what toggle mouse and icon replacement mode means?

also while i'm here i click the center icon, but nothing happens, i beleive default it hides the dock... how do i get it to do that?

also how about in the next update have other fucntions for the center dock such as the start menu. shame that the center icon doesnt do anything other than hiding the dock.

also is there there an option to have the icons magnify or animate, when you scroll over them..

You might try here:

Also, if you haven't figured it out already, right-clicking on the dock and choosing "settings" shows a very helpful and thorough settings page.

Just thought I'd share my Red Vista orb. I made one since I have an XPS m1330 that has a Product Red theme on it.  :-*
Sweet image, thanks.  Using it now...

Something like this would be cool though.  No need to render a background...

Sweet!  :-* This is the best pop launcher I've ever seen!  Keep up the great work.  I would like the option to keep the program/folder names visible though...

Oh, noob question: How do you get two rings of icons?
