Some Python programming ebooks are offered freely at https://www.packtpub...offers/free-learning

(...) WordWeb may have that capability (...)

^ only the Pro version.

I suppose we can add new words to a .dic file. Do We ?

Yes, you can with the Pro version.

Quote:
1. "You can add your own technical glossaries (or list of company acronyms, etc)".
2. " add a new word (or set of words) with definition."

3
The interface of Logos reminds me of WordWeb which may have that capability since its online version does.

The same happened to me.  It displayed 9.32 CAD$.  Once I clicked on the "Continue" button, the price changed to 19.32 CAD.

I use FlashGet v1.73 build 128.  It still works fine in Windows 10.

It does now in version 1.4.  However, the file content is not indexed.

Oh, there is still dedicated HIPS to consider.  AppGuard seems to be well liked on Wilders.  A spot of $ though.  Voodooshield is another.  I could see adding a real solid HIPS program. (Allowing that there is some degree in all the good suites.)

FYI, Outpost Firewall PRO includes HIPS.  I don't know how solid it is.

I'm still on 9.  I love DO.  I just can't justify the price that often.  It was the same with SlickEdit.
SlickEdit is still better in the sense that the user can use it on multiple computer.

You can do the same with DO.  I do currently.

Directory Opus is licenced on a per-machine basis.

Hello:

I would like to know if somebody knows an utility which:
  • converts Microsoft Word document (doc/docx) to text.
  • free for commercial uses.
  • can be invoked at the command line.
  • runs on Windows XP and later.
  • can be ran without Microsoft Word installed on the computer.

Thank you for for your time and efforts.

Regards,

Thanh

Beyond Compare v3.x can compare text that you create "on the fly"/paste from the clipboard.

Alpha version Everything 1.2.1.442a released

I have been bitten by Outpost too many times in the past - every new version I tried seemed to be bug ridden as though they like to releases beta versions to the public and then sort out the mess.

That's true with v4.0 and v2008.  So far, I have no problem with OFP v2009.
