I tried this several years ago. So my experience is based the old version.
There are somethings that I don't like
1. Qiqqa save the OCR result in the database, instead of in the corresponding PDF.
2. Qiqqa is designed to use the internal pdf viewer. But I prefer to use PDF XChange.

PDF XChange can perform OCR and save the result in the PDF.
This makes Qiqqa less attracting.

I'm trying out @40hz's suggestion re Sage. in the discussion: Re: Suggestions for a RSS reader
I've long since given up on something that's all-in-one.

These days I use the Sage extension in Firefox as my RSS reader and save what I want to keep to my Pocket (formerly ReadItLater) account or using Scrapbook depending on what it is.
None of the above have much in the way of bells & whistles.
Which is exactly the way I like it. YMMV. ;)

FWIW I'm still using the FF+Sage+Pocket+Scrapbook combination. And I'm still perfectly happy with it.

(And I've tried every feed reader I could lay my grubby mitts on that ran on either Windows or Nix in the meantime. Have yet to find anything I like better or which offered some feature so compelling that I absolutely had to have it. YMMV  :))

I suggest you try Brief extension. I think it is much better than  Sage.

Can you provide the original ttf? I would like to test it with other OCR. Thank you.

Edited : the reason I want to use an image format rather than a text format is to avoid any possible error when converting the .doc file to the .pdf format, such as font missing and substituted by another one, etc. .  So far, all "regular" word to pdf software show a few errors here and there.  I really want a 100% perfect copy within the pdf, whatever font/text/image is used in the source document.

How do you know the word to image process is perfect as you do not capture screen now?
Do you have some test doc file for share?

Yes, this works.
Get author support in 5 minutes.
What more can I ask?
Thank you.

I install both Screenshot Captor and ZUploader in portable  mode.
How do I config Screenshot Captor to use ZUploader?
I search all .ini files and can't find anything relative to it.
It seems that Screenshot Captor  is search for registry data for ZUploader path.

To clear the diskcache, I tried to watch a movie for several minutes between each test.
And each viewer has been tested for several times.
For viewers with difference smaller than 0.1 second,
you can call them the same.
But in general, I would say the result matches with my feeling.

Mini-Reviews by Members / Image viewer speed benchmark
« on: January 19, 2011, 09:45 AM »
This test benchmarks the average decoding time to goto next image file.
Machine Hardware: Thinkpad T42 1.5 GHz Dothon CPU(2MB cache), ATI Mobility Radeon 9000
Test Method: Browser through 9 jpeg files with 1200MP.
When the image is completely decoded, pagedown to the next file.

   ACDSee Pro 2.5                   0.50
FastPictureViewer 1.0 build 109  0.55 (GPU Acceleration is not supported on my machine)
   Hamana 1.48                      0.83
   JPEGView  1.0.21.0               0.94
   ColorStorm 10.9.8.11             1.07
   MangaMeeyaCE  2.4 Beta           1.23
   Picasa 3.8                       1.37
   FastStone  4.2                   1.43
   MaxView 2.4                      1.43
   Fax&Image  (xp)                  1.46
   XnView 1.97.8                    1.54
   FastStone  3.8                   1.56
   XnViewMP 0.32 beta (Dec 6 2010)  1.57
   IrfanView   4.28                 1.57
   Imagine 1.0.8 WIP(Jul 5 2010)    1.70

Conclusion:
ACDSee Pro is still the King of speed. The commercial software has its selling point.
But I would like to see how fast FastPictureViewer is with GPU acceleration.

Hamana is designed for reading comics.

JPEGView is the one I recommend, fast, free and open source.
Unicode filenames and directories are no problem.
It also support some photo editing features, and can show EXIF data on top of photos.
The only features I missed are color manager, and lossless crop.

Vim doesn't have good support for different language encoding.
In UTF-8, I can't print document in Chinese.

12
Though I don't try it before, but my current favorate clipboard software, clipboard recorder, does support copy through network.

f0dder, you are my hero. Yes, it's daemon tool installed this strange device. Is this done by purpose?

Sorry I didn't make my statement clear. It is a5mzjxub.SYS that bothers me. And yes, I have daemon tool installed. It installed sptd.sys on every early stage, the 5th shown in the ntbtlog.txt.

General Software Discussion / registry editor
« on: February 21, 2009, 11:55 PM »
From ntbtlog.txt (xp boot log file), I found out there is a driver file changed its name everytime I reboot.

Loaded driver \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\Modem.SYS
Loaded driver \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\a5mzjxub.SYS
Loaded driver \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\cfosspeed.sys

However, when I login xp, I can't find the suspect file.
This possible virus also appears in registry (HLKM/System/CurrentControlSet/Services/), and also changes its name when I reboot.
But no real filename is recorded in that registry item.

I have used NOD32 4RC and antivir (with updated virus code) to scan the hardrive in safe mode, but no luck.

When the computer is turned off, I think the virus write back its real name to registry so that xp know to run it when I boot up.
Is there a registry editor that can edit registry on another hard drive?

Can anyone give me some idea and tool to pin out this virus? Thank you.

General Software Discussion / Save clipboard vector graph in EMF
« on: October 21, 2008, 01:45 AM »
Is there a free command line tool that can save the vector graph in the clipboard to an EMF file?
Now I only find EMFSaver, but it is not a command line tool.
