I come here because I find the commentary interesting.  I learn something new almost every time. [...]  I  have picked up some very nice programs.

Seconded. :)

I am one of the lurkers and do not come on DC that often (perhaps at least once a month), but when I do it's for the above reasons. Also, as mentioned, the DC community is amazing.

Good luck in writing up the review.

"Cinta" in Malay, pronounced chin-ta, means "love" ;)

Haven't used it though, sorry.

90% male. Wow.

I cannot remember what I wrote in the 'appendices' section.. I might not have done at all. Sorry. :(

But otherwise, interesting results.

P.S. Josh's little 'bug thing' is pure evil. Every so often I forget and try to squash it. (Yee-hah! Go Josh!   )

I never remember that it's an avatar! It always takes me about 2 full seconds to react when I see it. Vote!

Mini-Reviews by Members / Re: Mini-Review of Cropper
« on: March 20, 2009, 07:54 PM »
Nice mini-review!

I also used Cropper for a while, and it seemed pretty nifty. But there was a rather annoying problem I had with it... if I'm not mistaken, it only allowed a maximum width of less than a 1000 (I can't remember the specific number). I like to screenshot good/artistic website layouts for inspiration, and with Cropper I couldn't get the whole width of the layout.

I now use Screenshot Captor. ;)

What ticks me off about AR is that it won't print ' characters properly... I always get random crap. Most annoying.

At my uni, the Linux computers have trouble printing out some Windows fonts. I found this out the hard way when I converted some of my friend's Word files to PDFs so I could print them out for her with my free printer credits, and all her headings came out as rectangles.

My department puts that down to Windows not being very good with converting files to PDFs though. So I'm not sure if it's Adobe Reader's fault...

(I didn't try other PDF readers though, to see if the same thing happened)

Hmm :-[

It's working fine again. I really have no idea what the difference is this time, so I guess I'll just leave this mystery to rest...

Sorry for all the trouble.

Nice list of add-ons!

you can use Locate in Bookmark Folders for that.

wow thanks for that. I was having the same frustrations as hairball with the Bookmark Manager's search. Haven't tried this extension yet but am definitely getting it after this!

One of my favourite add-ons ever is Separate Tabs - it groups tabs "automatically by host URL" by inserting a blank 'separator' tab between groups of tabs. It's not that polished in Firefox 1.5 (looks very nice in Firefox 2!) but I did use it for a year, until I got Tab Mix Plus, which made the 'separator' tab the same width as all the other tabs, kind of defeating the purpose. I have with some sadness disabled Separate Tabs ever since, as I value the features of Tab Mix Plus more, but I do miss it.  :/

(p.s. Separate Tabs has not been updated in over a year and I have emailed the author asking about an update, but I'm not hopeful...)

Hi,

The close buttons on the top-right of the window are fine. And I've restarted both the program and my computer a couple times but nothing changes...

Oh and I've just discovered the same problem with my copy of Clipboard Help+Spell :(

It could be a Mouser's Software problem ;) but the rest (FARR, Screenshot Captor and Process Tamer) are fine...

Do you think a re-install would help?

PopUp Wisdom / (help!) Unclickable windows
« on: June 05, 2008, 10:22 AM »
More than 7 months since the last post on this board...!

Anyway, I have a strange issue with PopUp Wisdom.

For some reason, I can't click any of the buttons on its windows. They are highlighted when I mouse over them, but nothing happens upon clicking. The only button I can click is the "close" button on the top right of the window.

The Preferences window is only accessible by right-clicking the system tray icon (the menu from this icon is the only thing that works) and again, I can highlight the buttons but not click on them.

Funny thing is that I used PopUp Wisdom a couple weeks ago and it worked perfectly fine. I could chose which books I wanted quotes from, I could click "random" endlessly to get as many quotes as I wanted... it's just, suddenly, now, it don't work. :(

Any help please?

(Sorry that my first post on DonationCoder should be a support question! Love reading the forums here!)
