General Software Discussion / Compact Photo Printer: Buy ink without paper?

We have an older PictureMate photo printer. The ink is used much faster than the paper.
Now we have about 500 sheets of 4 x 6 paper on hand.

New ink cartridges are sold with paper, which we don't need.
Third party ink cartridges for this printer receive terrible reviews.

Are there any good compact photo printers available that you can buy ink for, and NOT paper?

The $49 offer sounds great. However, does anyone know, for certain, if the Microsoft-bought Windows 7 will upgrade a Dell computer that came with a Dell-installed Vista Home Premium OS?

Or, do I have to buy Windows 7 from Dell?

I use TexNotes Pro, but I'm afraid GemX is having too many problems.
Want to try TreeDBNotes Pro, but their site never works right.
Does anyone else have trouble downloading from:
