the only app i know that will backup app data without root is helium but it has not been updated in a long time.
you might want to give it a try.

Thank you for creating this just what I'm looking for.

Is it possible to request a feature where it will launch the application if the window doesn't exist? 

note: wow my first post after joining in 2007.
