Description:

KeepWatch displays standard statistics: CPU Busy %, CPU Processes, RAM, Swap Memory, Fixed and Removable Drives, Disk Read/Write. It can be set to monitor your local weather. It also monitors every drive in your system for file read/write/delete activity. If it detects a large number of file changes per minute, it will display a message and optionally send users an email or a text message. If the user is going to be away for a while, they can set the program to Away mode and in additional to sending an email it will shutdown the computer.

Users can add filters for all the normal types of file activities. Folders/files can be excluded from setting off alerts. More information is available on the program's web page.
Important: Users should click Pause before ejecting Removable media.

In order to keep track of new file extensions, the program will scan the C drive and create a list of existing unique extensions. This will take a few minutes and is a one time operation.

Having created about three dozen apps over the last couple of years and finding too many false positive antivirus warnings this year, I decided to only post scripts in text format. Compiling AuotHotkey scripts produces an inconsistent and wide variety of responses from VirusTotal and similar testing sites.

In order to manage scripts and still allow neophytes to run them, I am creating an AHK Script Center. The program will allows users to:

• Run any script with a double-click
• Stop any running script with a double-click
• Edit scripts in the default folder tree
• Edit the AHK Script Center script if desired
• Check local script versions with online versions (left up to each developer to code this)
• Check mark one or more scripts so they will be auto started with the Script Center
• Stop all running scripts via a button or upon exiting the Script Center
• Set Font size and/or a Color Scheme for Script Center
• Add/remove Script Center to Windows startup

A program to add/update one line reminders or notices of important events in a work group setting.

Each item may contain the following:

1) Item Description
2) Item Priority 0 to 5 (displayed with different colors)
3) Item Date (defaults to today's date and can repeat Monthly, Biweekly and Weekly)
4) Filename or URL Link for the item
5) Extra text or instructions for other users in the work group.

Items may also be filtered once read. If another user makes a file change then items are re-displayed and the user is notified of changes. The items are constantly scrolled in a short 1-line window in a location of your choice. Thus far the program has been reviewed by SoftPedia (http://www.softpedia...stant-Info-Pro.shtml). I wasn't quite finished with it when they 'grabbed' it from my blog. I have a handful of other apps on their site.

Any feedback is welcome. I am still working on Advance notifications of dated items so it can be used as a general Reminder program.

N.A.N.Y. 2018 / NANY 2018 Release: Ready Bible Study v2.90

Version 2.90 of this program was just uploaded. I merged in most of the functionality of two other applications. I wanted to add it here as it involved several hundred hours of work. I'm not trying to proselytize to anyone. I was just amazed that AutoHotkey could manage 40 megabytes of text files as fast as it does to create a working Bible Study application. I heavily modified a number of Bibles, Commentaries, Dictionaries, etc. into INI files and used the R_INI library to access them. It's just a good example of AutoHotkey capabilities.

Users may press F6 to start Audio playback from any displayed text. Pressing F6 multiple times places items into an Audio queue. Audio may be paused or stopped. If Audio is playing when the program is exited, the user will be prompted to restart from the last item in the queue when the program is started next time. [that took a lot of work]

A program to create hotstring shortcuts for applications, documents, web pages and regular text. Users can drag existing shortcuts or documents over the program window and it will prompt for each item asking what letters you wish to use to launch each item. The program actively updates a running Shortcuts script so it requires users to install AutoHotkey. The program looks to see if items are already in an active window and brings it to the front before launching any item.

Most hot string shortcuts can safely be typed from anywhere, but, users can also press both Shift keys to display a Shortcuts Launcher window.

A program to set repetitive reminders of daily tasks. Tasks can repeat at set intervals or be displayed at set times of the day. For each items, sub-items may be entered. They will be rotated through whenever the item reminder is displayed. Users can also control the color, the onscreen duration and the location of each reminder.

Living Room / Windows Logger and Hung Process Monitoring

Last summer I developed an application to log time spent in Windows applications, thinking it would be handy to monitor where my kids are going on the internet, or if a manager at work believed one of his/her employees were not doing their assigned work. This application is call Windows Logger.

From my work on windows logging I noticed that Windows OS has one function that determines whether a Window associated with a process is hung or frozen. We were having staff at work complain about slowness on both PCs and Virtual Desktops, so I decided to split this function off onto an application called Process Monitor.

In order to receive email notifications I used a freeware program called File Alert Monitor to watch folders on our network where these applications keep their log files. File Alert Monitor gave me a visual notification of a PC having performance issues. The last step was to create Email Alerter which sent me an email whenever a File Alert window popped up.

With all of this, I can tell if certain PCs are encountering a lot of hung processes and contact the users.

If anyone is interested in these applications, I will post them. I have attached the two PDF help documents.

Living Room / An Exercise Reminder app (in Autohotkey)

A couple of months ago I ran across an article on workplace exercises, specifically stretching exercises you can do at work or at home. The articles pictures demonstrated how to do each exercise and for how long. I decided that, as an IT professional, this was something many of us can benefit from. The resulting application was written in Autohotkey.

The major groups are: hands, legs, shoulders, neck and back. To these groups, I added Eye exercises and reminders for Aerobics and Circuit Training. The Setup screen shows all of the options users can choose from.

I have posted much more about the application at Exercises Reminder App and hope some of you will check it out and give me feedback.

N.A.N.Y. 2016 / NANY 2016: Bible Reference and Study Application

I probably missed the NANY 2016 cut, but have posted a Bible Reference app I wrote in AutoHotkey recently. It contains over 150 cross references on various Bible topics. Users can choose from 5 fonts and 3 Bible translations. Many web links are also part of the app as well as a Bible browser, 3 Daily Reading plans and 4 Devotionals. The program has text to speech for reading in all text windows.

The program also tracks what the user has read via colors and saves the items clicked on. It also keeps a Session time and total reading time. Even though the program uses INI text files, it searches any Bible in less than 3 seconds, displaying 2,600 searched verses in that time.

All associated data files are self-extracting from the program. Like other AutoHotkey apps, just copy it to any folder, run it and it will extract data files and a PDF Help file.
