General Software Discussion / Re: So, what pdf reader app is your fav?
« on: September 16, 2015, 12:01 PM »
Just downloaded and tried Sumatra 3. The tabs  are welcome addition and the gray background is good. I have been using Sumatra for quite some time now and I like it even more with the improvements in version 3. Kudos to the developers. :) :) :) :) :)

General Software Discussion / Re: Shut down scheduler
« on: August 18, 2010, 10:25 AM »
Thanks, skwire
I use Download Accelarator Plus and I scheduled it for shut down. But I downloads from file-sharing sites which are not supported by DAP.

So I actually need a scheduler to shut down my PC at a specific time.

General Software Discussion / Shut down scheduler
« on: August 18, 2010, 02:57 AM »
I leave my PC on overnight to download large files. My download manager is able to indicate the time the download will take.
Is there any utility to schedule the PC to Shut down after the download?

Thanks.

Birds of a Feather Update Together? What a title! The question is as far as Windows 7 is concerned we cannot be birds of a feather. I am still hooked on XP.
Nevertheless this issue packs punch. Thanks.

Got here through a Google search for an envelope printer. Has been a very good experience. Thanks for this forum.

General Software Discussion / Interner Connection Keeper program
« on: February 09, 2009, 04:40 PM »
I use a wireless GPRS Modem to connect the internet. The connection breaks often and my information is that there are programs that can maintain the connection.

Any suggestions for freeware internet connection keepers?

Thanks.

General Software Discussion / To Do List software

I am looking for a small To Do List software that displays reminders on the desktop.

Thanks in advance.

I downloaded Chrome to find it out and after one try, out it went. I do not know why the Google people made it.

Some people may like it and like Deozaan, I find some Google products like Gmail very useful.

But my FF3 with the Aeon theme and the many wonderful extensions make it the very best for me. I'm just Fired for the Fox!!!

You guys and gals (?) at DonationCoder are simply great. There is something for me anytime you get by. I have used Fine Print for the past several years. I remember how I used it to produce a pocket revision manual for my graduate exams. Fine Print has served me well but I have just downloaded priPrinter for a trial.

Kudos for always bringing me next to the cutting edge.

Thanks, zridling for the reference to the ComputerWorld article.

I have a P4 2.4GHz machine and would have to upgrade  memory to spruce up for these enhancements.
I surely will stick to XP for the until ...........!

My experience with a friend's new laptop with Vista installed did not impress me. It was S----L---Ooooooooooooo ----W.

General Software Discussion / Re: KMPlayer and GOMPlayer
« on: July 24, 2007, 11:15 AM »
Just got on this thread.
I'm hooked to KMP though I do not know how to use most of the settings. In fact my PC is connected to my home stereo system and KMP rocks the house so much 'she' gets angry. But for KMP 'she' cannot even stoop to conquer! That's how much I hold KMP in esteem.
However when i want something cool I go for XMP. I've just downloaded the latest version.
