I used to be with magmahost until about 2 weeks ago.
May I ask where you moved to?
I'm searching for a low cost webhoster (with all the downside of beeing cheap). For me it's no problem if my site is down for some hours, as long the service comes back somewhen and the data is +/- safe.

Are there other people working with Magmahost?
Have an open support ticket for 5 days and heared nothing of them...

General Software Discussion / Make "Book" from Blog
« on: October 30, 2008, 05:45 AM »
Hello

I'm searching for a specific application.
I want to have an application which can get all (not just the latest 10-20 entries) Blogarticles, get this offline and make an offline readable "book" (like CHM-Windows Helpfile, MHT-Website, or what else). Important, all entries should be in an overview (like an TOC).

Does anybody knows something like this or has an idea how to reach this with other solutions?

Thanx!

General Software Discussion / Source Code / Code Snippet Manager
« on: October 17, 2008, 09:14 AM »
hi there
As far as i can judge there are many programmers in this forum.
what software do you use for managing code snippets / source code fragments? I don't mean real Source code management tools (like subversion or sourcesafe).

On bitsdujour there is a discount on monday for "Source Code Library", but I'm not sure if there are better tools.

I've seen sftpdrive. The problem is that there is a need for online connection, but I need also caching when I'm offline

6
murratore,

Along with a subscription comes some optional client-side software that will provide that functionality.
This is handy backup, isn't it? There I haven't found this feature. Can you give me a hint?

7
Am I right with this... FilesAnywhere is only replicating/synchronizing on schedule. It hasn't a built-in "filesystem-watch-mode" which transfers all changes automatically?

8
does anybody know www.sugarsync.com?

filesanywhere looks promising. I'll give it a try.

9
...but JungleDisk does local caching
Unfortunately the local cache is not available when no connection to the internet is available....

General Software Discussion / Virtual Webdrive for everywhere
« on: June 23, 2008, 08:51 AM »
hello @all

I'm searching for the perfect solution for sharing my files....

Scenario: I work at multiple computers (home, business, mobile -> tabletpc, smartphone) and want to have access everywhere to the same data. The data itself are various -> documents, big database, roboform data etc.). At the moment I'm carrying a usb harddisk with me for this...but now I want to change to a "virtual" drive. My wishes

- Secure Online Storage (like Amazon S3)
- Synchronization automatically
- Local Caching for the data in case when I'm offline and for performance reasons (multiple files copying)
- Accessible via Drive Letter in Windows Explorer
- Online Storage accessible via Web (e.g. from Internet Cafe where no Software installation is possible)
- Partial File Updating (-> on big files only the "difference" is submitted)
- Cooperation with company firewall

I had a look at Jungle Disk (no local Caching), Webdrive (expensive, no web access, problems with connecting behind the company firewall), TeamDrive (expensive), Foldershare (no local File).

Has somebody else already set up such a solution which I want?

Thanks + Greetings
Michael

General Software Discussion / Portable Document Management System
« on: April 23, 2007, 07:17 AM »
Hi @all

I'm searching for a portable document mangement system which can be installed on a flash stick
and carried with me. The Documents (or Database for the document) itself are also saved on the
stick. A must-have feature is the ability to tag the files/documents.

Does anybody knows any application for that?

I read through this thread
https://www.donation...dex.php?topic=6991.0 but didn't find anything
which suits my needs.

Thx

Take a look at IDimager.

It supports nearly all of your wishes... -> www.idimager.com
