Find And Run Robot / Re: Allow display of file size

I can see file size in Windows explorer fine.

This thread is about seeing the same information in FARR. And the fact that Windows doesn't show sizes on folders isn't an issue for me and shouldn't be for a tool like FARR anyway.

so the best for now is to br...

is to explore to that location if the files are all under the same folder.

I saw that a similar request was made long ago, why was it never implemented? Is there some king of technological problem i am not aware of?

I am too lazy for this  ;D

Kidding aside, i am asking this for situations where the file size is important, like selecting the right version of a picture according to file size. Would be inefficient to right-click each one so the best for now is to br

Allow display of file size. Don't care if it is slower just put it as an option off by default :)

Forgot to mention...please  :D

The hotkey auto modifier insert will probably meet my needs for the moment as I mainly use 1 set of search criterias and only want to search additional folders from time to time.

Thanks.

6
Does the modifier stay engaged once activated? I would prefer not having to enter the modifier every time.

It would be much more simple to allow switching between different search folders or pattern scoring lists then to try to configure the perfect set of rules to get the results wanted. Ideally search folders and pattern scoring sets that work together.

Example, when I code, I don't want FARR to focus on the same folders then when I am doing general work.

If there is an obscure an simple way to achieve this, please advise :)

Find And Run Robot / Score always 100 over what supposed to be
« on: November 04, 2017, 12:40 AM »
Trying to fine tweak my scoring rules and I have turned everything off, aliases, heuristics and patterns, but the score is always 100 more then what the search folder is supposed to be.

Any clues?

This makes me want the scoring break-down feature even more!!!

Found option that fixes the issue.

And this would be really useful in debugging the scoring rules...very very useful  :)

Did i mention very very very useful!  ;D ;D ;D

it's a fun idea for sure, i've thought of it myself. unfortunately it's not so trivial to add and not suffer a performance penalty.  not something i can add for now.

I don't see why it should cause a performance penalty. The break-down could only be triggered when selecting the option from item context menu and not have to be calculated or kept in memory for all items.

I have no Aliases/Keywords/Groups configured and I can't find the option that tells farr to only match aliases when you start with a certain keyword/symbol.

Find And Run Robot / Search word order
« on: August 30, 2017, 11:38 PM »
Hello,

Does anyone know of an option to allow search to work no matter the word order entered?

Example : If i enter "vpn email" i find the file named "fvi_vpnlock_email_send.vi"

But if i enter email "email vpn" then the file is not in results.

If it is not an option could it be made an option in a future version?

Thanks.

Find And Run Robot / Re: FARR updates ?
« on: February 22, 2017, 05:20 PM »
There is only one feature missing to make FARR the perfect software for me. The ability to apply different text colors to the results according to to complete file path pattern matching filters.

I am a paying supporting member and I would consider paying more to have this feature implemented :)

Could be as simple as adding a color column in the pattern scoring options page. Not even have to be a color box, a simple hex or rgb text value would be ok for me.

Hello,

Add option to configure text color for different search folder locations. This would allow to quickly see were a file comes from (backup or other). I believe this to be fairly simple to implement and would add useful information to the results, allowing even faster selection. The color applied would be the one from the highest matching search folder score.
