To store contacts, telephone numbers, addresses etc I still use PSA Cards. https://psa-cards.software.informer.com/
I registered the program years ago but is no  longer available or supported.

I used VSDC http://www.videosoftdev.com a project and it did what I wanted.  If you pay a subscription  you can get hardware acceleration; I didn't need it.

General Software Discussion / Re: Cobian Backup
« on: May 08, 2015, 03:26 AM »
I have being using Cobian Backup  for a long while. It may be clunky but it does what I want
File and Folder backup
full, incremental and differential backups.
Plain file backup- no compression
Volume Snapshot Service VSS to backup open files

While still working, the program has been sold supposedly but no feedback, updates or support for a long while.

In case there are problems I am now looking for a replacement.

Any suggestions? Preferably free but would consider commerical if suitable.

I am using the current beta and find it very good. I only want copies of files; not compressed files, so I have very easy retrieval. I use 2 type of backup; one is instantaneous to a second hard drive in the PC and second to a USB connected drive. This gives "instant" backup as well as a weekly snapshot.

The one feature that is missing BUT is promised is some form of version control. This will greatly improve the program for me.

Bvckup is a great tool, but it is not my only strategy to save my data.

I look forward to further versions.

General Software Discussion / Re: Software for n-up photo printing?
« on: February 09, 2010, 05:16 AM »
I would use IrfanView to print the photos as mentioned above as contact sheets. I would then use XnView to print the contact sheets as one PDF using PrimoPDF. It might be a little roundabout, but it is easy and is free
