Did you think of trying out the free version of XYplorer, XYplorerFree?

Yes. tried it, didn't quite like the way the icon/files are displayed. They are too big ,and take too much space.

I'm happy with QDir so far, there is only small annoying feature about how the tabs are displayed that I hope it will be resolved in future. I don't understand by what you mean by wrong features, I see everything there can be customized.

I use twin windows instead of default 4, seems to work fine.

Was using old xplorer2 pro 1x previously and unwilling to upgrade but I found this one which has all similar pro features and free!

General Software Discussion / RSS Reader that can preload contents
« on: March 15, 2014, 09:35 AM »
Hi, I'm been using FeedReader 2.0 this time, it's great and fulfils everything I want..except when I encounter some slow feeds, the images load take more than a second ,and it's hard to read them quickly. Is there another good rss reader that can preload the images>

Unfortunately I don't use outlook or gmail, so I'm prefer a standalone dashboard like mgstag.

they are back online, so it looks like I don't have to implement it. Is there one with image or link tracking as well?

Thanks. I looked at them, and they don't have the dashboard system. That is something I like about msgtag.

Maybe I should build my own... if only I had time.

Hi, Msgtag server seems to went down last week, and support is not responding. It's quite a good system but this is annoying. Is there an alternative, or something I can host myself?

skrommel, desklock is exactly what I'm looking for! Could you please add a way to enable it via the hotkey. Now it will disable only

I'm looking for something more like Google Docs idea, but I like to host it myself, rather than on google servers.

Unfortunately, I don't use sharepoint, and have no plans to set that up.  I can only find hosted solutions, not offline ones.

General Software Discussion / Collaborative excel

Hi

I 'm looking for ways to have multiple users working on excel collaboratively. I would like to host it myself, and not on other servers. I do not need full Excel functionality, so I could use another software, it just more entering data and sorting.

16
Yes, that's the idea. It's not terribly difficult to do but I just don't have to time to do it (in C#). If I find more time for programing....

17
yes, most tools just remove empty folders only. they don't do what I want.

18
Hi I'm looking for a quick way to remove folders with only 1 item (the subfolder), but preserving the hierarching

e.g
folder1
  emptyfolder
    emptyfolder
      folderwithcontent1
         folderwithcontent2

Becomes:

folder1
  files from folderwithcontent1
     files from folderwithcontent2

There is TrueCrypt Explorer which is a portable without needing admin rights. It works but needs an update.

Sure, I would. What he neededs. But I don't see any commonality to those failed files.

I tested with ExactFinder. Unfortunately, doesn't seems stable enough. For some files, it can't calculate the hash, and when verifying, some files causes errors too.

I think Git is a little unsuitable, it keeps a copy of the whole file in one revision. It's good for distributed code, but not for file verifying.

This looks cool, testing with 1 TB data now, looking great! I can't believe I paid for ACV, and the author don't reply.

Thanks, but I'm looking for a mass file verifier to verify TBs of data, not individual. One of nice things of ASCV is it recurses through every folder and builds the checksum file, which I can use to verify later if any file got corrupted.

Hi

I'm looking for a tool to mass verify checksums, like Advanced Checksum Verifirer www.irnis.net, but this tool don't support unicode files, and the author does not respond to emails anymore. Can you recommend any good ones?
