General Software Discussion / Re: NewEgg
« on: July 27, 2008, 11:56 AM »
I have bought many things from newegg and their shippping have been timely and fast.
I have never have had to return anything for replacement so I cannot comment on that.
The reviews on the site have always been a big help in deciding what to purchase.
They usually have the best price on most items and about 50% of the time I have been able to purchse the items with free shipping, a big plus.
Their check out is a bit of a pain, but after using it for quite awhile it seems easier.

Living Room / Re: Choosing a keyboard and a mouse
« on: April 22, 2007, 10:54 AM »
I have been using the Microsoft Wireless Photo Keyboard and Mouse for over 1 year now and I love it. I use my computer about 10 hours per day and the batteries last apx. 6 months in the mouse. If they go dead just open the cover on the back and reinsert new ones without missing a beat.
The original battery on the keyboard is still working.

Previously had logitech and often had problems with the recharging process malfunctioning.

Looks like a really good program. I am going to try the free version first.
Thanks for the tip.

Microsoft has a AddPrint Directory program for printing folder contents in XP

I have been running comando for abour 3 months now and really like it.

It does a good job Blocking attacks from outside. Controls which programs can access the Internet or network. Recognizes known safe programs. Blocks malware-style leak tests. Resists termination by malware-style techniques.

Initial bombardment of program-control confirmation pop-ups can be annoying—as with most firewalls. But that gets better as you use it.

What's the Best? / Re: Anti-Virus Package

I have read all the posts here and https://www.donation...index.php?topic=1444
The general opioion seeems to be that Nod 32 is best without hogging resources.
I personally have been using Avast for about 2 years and am pretty satisfied with it as a free program.

I find it strange that no one has mentioned EZAntivirus from computer Assoc. I just heard about it from a friend who had many viruses embedded on her computer. The guy repairing her computer used to work for CA and he claims that EZ is the best product available and used by large corperations.
