Finished Programs / Duplicated Folders/Directories...
« on: April 13, 2023, 06:13 AM »
Hi All

I have not posted for yonks, but still check back here every now and then...  I have a question or request if anyone is bored...

I have scanned the forum, and can't find anything relating to this...

Anyway. I am trying to find something that will scan for duplicate folders/directories. In that, a whole folder has been copied elsewhere and now two versions exist. A crude method could be that it simply checks the number of files and the names of the files (bur would be better if content/checksum were checked also).

I use onedrive, and if I scan for a file often it comes back in more than one destination. I am sure this is there I have accidentally copied a folder or uploaded the same images more than once.

I know I can use a filededupe (I created a command line one myself, which is why I now know I have duplicated folders). I appear to be using so much space on duplicated stuff, it is so annoying!

Anyone got anything that can do this at a folder level?

Cheers

Hi

Sorry, only just got round to testing this!

I downloaded getmail from the link you supplied, but immediately, Windoes Defender said it malicious and not to run it?  Any ideas if it is dodgy?

Hi All

Not posted he in a long time!!

What I need, is a simple standalone prog, perhaps minimised in the systray and sits a monitors a given POP email account r something like a GMAIL account ( I would obviously need to set the username/pass etc)

Then, when it find an email, it automatically prints (to the pc's default printer) any attachment to the email (not the whole email body itself, just the attachment).

Could have added options such as the option the delete/forward the email after being processed
Set the time delay for the check
 etc

But essentially, that's it.

If no one is interested, I will put together myself, but just putting it out there if anyone wants to give it a go, or if anyone is aware of something like this already?

I really do want it as simple as possible, and nice and portable?

Cheers

Hi

Not sure I understand the requiement entirely, can you explain again or give some sameples as to what you will change, where, and what you would want to happen to which files where, after that change?
